is today flying to mauritius is today flying to london, seeking to extract even more concessions from the british government over money and territory. kemi badenoch slams the deal, saying the pm is solely to blame. we'll have all the latest. >> we will indeed. >> we will indeed. >> and the search continues. following the disappearance of two sisters in aberdeen. >> now the pair have been missing for a week now. we'll be live on the ground in aberdeen. yeah. it was a testy exchange at prime minister's questions. but one issue does seem very, very peculiar. and that is over the course of these negotiations, these desperate, these rushed negotiations around the chagos islands. i've never seen a deal in history before where the side thatis in history before where the side that is giving something up also has to pay for the privilege. well, this is the thing. bring it back to basics.

>> why are we giving up this territory? >> and what are we getting in return? >> and why on earth are we paying >> and why on earth are we paying for it? as you say, it does not seem to add up. some people are getting in touch wondering about whether this is all to do with the influence of china. we know rachel reeves has been on a recent trip. >> i don't know if that's a conspiracy or whether there could be some truth to that, because it doesn't seem to be making sense. >> keir starmer doesn't himself seem to have a particularly strong answer on all of this ? strong answer on all of this? >> whenever he's asked, and whenever any labour mp is asked, they say this is about securing they say this is about securing the base, but the base isn't under threat. no one's about to invade the base. i mean, do they know something we don't? in their view, securing the base is about ending any discussion of the base at the un because these people think that the un is the be all and end all of political discussion. the trouble is, the incoming, most powerful man in the world really does not think whatever the un talking shop says, matters are jo white. and as long as there is a single us armed personnel on that base, that base is safe. it's not

going anywhere because of some advisory, non accurate vote at the un. >> and keir starmer cares a lot about that sort of thing, a lot about that sort of thing, a lot about international law, a lot about international law, a lot about judges in other countries. >> but is this all about sort of decolonising or that sort of progressive nonsense in my view? >> i think there are a lot of people who are just a little bit embarrassed that the united kingdom still has territory around the world, particularly, you know, geopolitically significant territory. i think there are people in this country who would much rather the uk, you know, gave up the falkland islands, gave up gibraltar gave up the picton islands, gave up. diego garcia gave up the isle of wight, | diego garcia gave up the isle of wight, i don't know, i mean, i'm sure i'm sure lots of people would rather this country was far smaller and less important in the world. it's their world view. yeah. and is anyone thinking of the chagos islands for that matter? >> gbnews.com/yoursay do you understand why keir starmer is doing this? >> trying so hard to give away this territory? >> let us know gbnews.com/yoursay. but let's get the headlines with sofia.
