international committee of the red cross during a handover at the israel—gaza border. however, there are still many others yet to be released at a later stage. earlier, the father to one of those still held by the terror group hamas told gb news the next group of hostages need to be released as soon as possible. >> we are waiting for it to happen. we have no guarantee that it will happen and we hope that it will happen and we hope that hamas and israel will come to an agreement that will release all hostages and, and they go on a ceasefire, a permanent ceasefire. >> well, in response to the ceasefire being enacted earlier today, terror group hamas fighters gathered in gaza in order to celebrate videos released from the region show members of the hamas armed wing chanting and celebrating as the delayed truce came into effect this morning. meanwhile, one israeli citizen has expressed concerns about how long the ceasefire will last. >> the ceasefire is something

that i hope that will work out, but as i know hamas, you cannot even trust them in i%. >> in other news, tomorrow will mark the inauguration of president elect donald trump as he makes his return to the white house, the soon to be 47th president arrived in the washington area last night, where he then took in a fireworks display with his wife, melania. it's expected he'll also host a rally with his supporters later on today in downtown washington, although a counter rally also took place yesterday, with thousands attending to protest the incoming president. earlier today, shadow foreign secretary priti patel told gb news it's important that the people in the us and in the uk accept trump as america's new president. >> the american people have put their hopes and trust and confidence in him to deliver for the people of america, for this great country, but also importantly for us. and i say this as a conservative, you know, i've been invited here by

our sister party, the republican party. we have strong and endunng party. we have strong and enduring ties and links with our sister party. we've always stood shoulder to shoulder as two countries, and that's where we should be. again, the onus now is on keir starmers government to step up and rebuild links and relationship with the trump administration and staying in the us. >> tiktok users are opening the app >> tiktok users are opening the app today to find a message saying they can't use the social media platform for now, due to a law enacted in washington. the ban came into force after the us supreme court passed a law in april which stated the platforms china based parent company bytedance must have sold the platform by today, which it hasn't done. however, president elect donald trump says he would most likely give tiktok a 90 day reprieve from the ban once he takes office tomorrow. this morning, a british government official said there are no current plans to ban tiktok in the uk, and those are the latest gb news headlines for now. now it's back to nana.
