>> very good. afternoon to you. it's 3:00. >> pm and welcome to the martin daubney show here on gb news. we're broadcasting for you live from the heart of westminster and all across the uk. on today's show of course, we'll bnng today's show of course, we'll bring you all of the very latest on the dramatic court case going on the dramatic court case going on as we speak. of course, the triple child killer axel rudakubana facing the sentencing today and presiding is casey deanna here. we're expecting the ruling to come down perhaps in the from the next hour onwards, perhaps as late as 5:00. the proceedings have been delayed twice already by rudakubana having outbursts, shouting, outbursts, proclaiming he needed a paramedic, proclaiming he had chest pains. this is despite the fact he was deemed fit to stand both this morning and after the

afternoon recess seems to be physically nothing wrong with him whatsoever. and of course, looking in there over the evidence or family members of those who lost their lives, and also survivors wanting their moment in court, wanting their moment in court, wanting their moment of justice. and so far, rudakubana has made an absolute farce of that. he's behaved with the most contemptible selfishness. he's made it all about him. he's been hugely distressing to anybody in the court. those poor family members have just got to the stage of proceedings, always one of the most heartfelt and delicate, where they read out their human impact statements of what this has done to them throughout the course of the day. some graphic detail, simply too horrendous to talk about on national television has come out. my colleague mark white and my colleague mark white and my colleague sophie reaper, who's inside the court there at liverpool crown court, have been

fearlessly reporting on this throughout the day, at times very, very harrowing, very, very moving, very, very heartfelt evidence. and we are following this through now all the way until justice is served and rudakubana is sent down, for thatis rudakubana is sent down, for that is sure to happen this afternoon. and on that note, now let's bring in gb news home and security editor mark white, who's been valiantly outside liverpool crown court all day. mark, can i just say by astonishing reporting, you've been you've been unflinching, you've been telling it as it is. you've been rolling on air for hours, mate. i know that's difficult. i know you would not like me to say that this is about you. you're doing your job. but you've been brilliant. sophie reaper inside. i've been messaging her because it's. who knows how harrowing it is to hear what's going on in that court. mark white we saw some of the videos, some of the pictures, very early on, they were leaking out. that's being shown in court today. heaven knows what those

inside are being subjected to. mark white for those who are just joining us at 3:00 today, can you bring us fully up to speed? >> yes, indeed. well, axel rudakubana was brought to court today, just about 1030 this morning. he didn't attend the court initially. there was a delay. proceedings were expected to get underway at 11 am, but he was, it seems, refusing to go up into the dock. as you said in your summary. so well there, martin, claiming that he was ill, protesting that he needed medical attention. but he was eventually persuaded to go up to the dock. he wasn't in there seconds, and he was saying, mumbling at first that he was unwell. and then as the prosecutor started to set out the case against him, and especially the fact that he was

heard in the custody suite caught on an audio device recording within that custody suite, muttering to himself how glad he was that these children had died, that effectively he had died, that effectively he had achieved what he wanted to do, that he had no feelings on it, that he was neutral to what had happened when that evidence was being read out by the prosecutor. at that point, axel rudakubana much more vocal in saying that he needed medical attention, shouting, screaming attention, shouting, screaming at the judge that he needed to see a doctor claiming that he had chest pains. his defence lawyer then spoke, said that he hadnt lawyer then spoke, said that he hadn't eaten for several days, that he wasn't drinking. he continued to scream at that point. clearly there was no point. clearly there was no point in continuing with him in the dock. the judge decided that he should be sent back down to

the cells and ordered that a doctor, that a medic, assess him to determine whether he was fit to determine whether he was fit to continue. and of course, the evidence continued without him. and then we got to the point. after lunch, martin, where the assessment had been made, the doctor had said that he was fine, that he was fit enough to come back into the dock. and the defence team said he will come up, he will behave himself this time. but he wasn't back in the dock more than a few minutes before he started screaming and shouting again about how ill he was and the need to see a medic. at that point, the judge decided to remove him from the dock the first time, of course, that he was removed from the dock. we saw the frustration of the parents, the parents who've had to contend with so much as a result of the actions of this individual. on the 29th of july

last year, sergio aguila, sergio da silva aguila, who is the father of alice da silva aguila just nine years old when her life was ended by axel rudakubana, shouted after him coward! as he left the court and headed back down to the cells. and we've been hearing just in the last few minutes impact statements. martin. absolutely heartbreaking victim impact statements being read out in court. and among those are victim impact statements from the family of alice da silva aguiar. and i'll try and get through this for you. as you say, it's difficult, but we've got to remain professional. it might be difficult for us. it's absolutely unbearable for the families. so we've got to just

get through this and impart, as best we can, the thoughts and the feelings of those family members. so alice's parents said in a statement that they were going to surprise her with a trip to disneyland that summer. that summer of last year, the summer she died, alice fought for 14 hours to survive the attack, but one, once her life was lost, we lost our lives too, they said in the statement. we used to cook for three and now we only cook for two, was the statement from the parents of this young girl. and as we're just continuing to hear impact statement after impact statement, that is truly heartbreaking. and one in particular that really just stopped me in my tracks when i heard it before was from leon

lucas, one of the adults so badly injured that day, stabbed as she tried her very best to save the young girls who were being stabbed to death and injured by axel rudakubana and leon. lucas said how can i live knowing i survived when children died? it goes really, i think, to show just how traumatised the people are. not just, of course, the those three girls who died and how completely and utterly tragic and pointless those deaths were, but those who were injured and survived, those who were not injured and survived, just the trauma that they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. children we know are resilient, and many of those children, some will perhaps respond better than others, but they'll get, you know, they'll try to get on with their lives and live their lives. but for

the adults, you can understand in hearing from leon lucas how terrible she feels that she was not able to do more, but she shouldn't feel terrible because everyone that knows anything about what happened there knows just how hard she tried. and john hayes tried to save these girls. >> mark white. you know, in any case, like this, i remember the valdo calocane case, the triple killing in my home city of nottingham, the murderer of brianna ghey. you know, the victim impact statements are so, so raw. i mean, those vignettes and everybody can relate to. we used to cook for three and now we cook for two. i mean, you know, these are the things where, you know, life is forever changed by this psychopath, this utter psychopath who clearly premeditated this. this was clearly a plan. there's clearly

no sense of regret to actually say, i'm glad these children are dead. mark white you've been covering many, many cases through your illustrious and long career. do you recall coming face to face with such unimaginable evil as axel rudakubana? >> i've seen lots of evil people that have put before >> i've seen lots o
