that caused that caused that crash at the study preparatory school in wimbledon. the met police, though, has reopened its investigation following concerns from the families of nooriya sajjad and selina law. their parents say it's vital the investigation continues in pursuit of what they've described as truth and full facts. an inquest jury has ruled the helicopter crash that killed five people at leicester city's king power stadium in 2018 was an accident. the football club's chairman and the pilot of the aircraft were among those who died. jurors found the helicopter was properly maintained and the pilot took all possible steps to regain control. the coroner said the loss will be felt by families and the leicester community forever. she's now considering a report to prevent future accidents. a leaked home office report calls for police to record more non—crime hate incidents, despite previous orders to stop over free speech concerns. it dismisses claims of

two tier policing as a right wing extremist narrative. the review, ordered by the home secretary, also describes grooming gangs as an alleged problem frequently exploited by the far right. well, shadow business secretary andrew griffiths told us the report's conclusion is disturbing. >> the home secretary needs to pubush >> the home secretary needs to publish this immediately so that we can all see for ourselves what and who it is that's saying these non—crime hate incidents, these non—crime hate incidents, these attacks and waste of police resources, something a conservative home secretary stopped. and there's clearly a cell within the home office that is not concerned about ordinary crime, ordinary policing in favour of this ideological approach to non—crime hate incidents. they're wrong. that's not where we should be putting our police resources. and the home secretary needs to come to parliament today, publish this report and explain who it is that keeps coming up with this idea. >> well, the prime minister, sir keir starmer, has also responded

to that report. he says when it comes to extremism, it's important to focus resources on the threats faced by the uk. >> i think when it comes to extremism, it's very important that we are focused on the threat so we can deploy our resources properly and therefore we're looking carefully at where the key challenges are. obviously, that's now informed with what i said last week in the aftermath of the southport murders, where we've got the additional challenge, i think, of a sort of cohort of loners who are extreme and they need to be factored in. so that's the focus. in the end, what this comes down to is safety and security of people across the united kingdom. and that's my number one focus. >> the ethics chief of the british medical association has told mps that doctors must be able to opt out of assisted dying at any stage. andrew green says it's vital their position is respected, as evidence is currently being heard on the

controversial bill. if passed, it would allow terminally ill adults in england and wales to request help ending their life. earlier, professor sir chris whitty warned that patients mustn't face a bureaucratic thicket when making that choice. mps voted in favour of the bill in november, but it still faces months of scrutiny and further votes. and donald trump says the rise of chinese ai company deepseek is a wake up call for the us tech industry. the firm claims its models. its model rivals. us giants like open ai, but at a fraction of the cost. the news wiped billions off wall street, with nvidia suffering the biggest one day loss in history. but the us president said china's ai growth might actually be a positive for america. >> the release of deepseek ai from a chinese company should be a wake up call for our industries that we need to be laser focused on competing to win. >> that's the news on gb news.
