its presence is distressing. deputy prime minister angela rayner says it would not be fair to keep some floors while dismantling others. the building will remain untouched until the eighth anniversary of the disaster in june. a man who shook his partner's toddler to death has been jailed today for life, with a minimum term of 25 years. christopher stockton was in sole charge of 22 month old charlie roberts when the boy suffered a fatal head injury in their family home in darlington. his mother, paula roberts, left her son in stockton's care to attend an eye test. within minutes of her leaving, stockton called 999 to report the toddler had gone floppy, he said. roberts, who admitted to neglecting the boy prior to the murder, has also been jailed for four years. sir keir starmer has been chairing a so—called secret meeting this afternoon to tackle investment reform and growth, amid plummeting poll ratings and grim economic forecasts. it

three way tie at the next general election, with labour cabinet ministers set to lose their seats and nigel farage holding the balance of power. the survey of almost 6000 people found reform uk would have 175 seats, up from only five. laboun seats, up from only five. labour, though, would drop from 412 to 174, with the conservatives gaining around 50 . conservatives gaining around 50. wes streeting yvette cooper and the deputy prime minister, angela rayner, would be among those to lose their seats, with the conservative and reform coalition the most likely outcome if an election was to be held tomorrow. the liverpool manchester railway line is shut today after a car crashed onto the tracks at salford. train services across northern england and north wales face severe disruption for the rest of the day. network rail says the vehicle has now been removed and damaged. overhead lines are being repaired. police have arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of drink driving. he is now in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be

life threatening. meanwhile, two people have died after a small plane crashed into vehicles on a busy road in the brazilian city of sao paulo. footage taken from a helicopter shortly after that crash this morning shows a bus on fire in the aftermath. the two victims were found in the fuselage of the aircraft, which was bound for southern brazil. meanwhile, a motorcyclist and a woman on that bus have been taken to hospital. while the cause of the crash is being investigated, the king and queen will. host hollywood actor and foodie stanley tucci for a black tie dinner tonight at highgrove, celebrating italian cuisine and sustainable food. the feast uses british ingredients blended with italian traditions , inspired by italian traditions, inspired by tucci's tv series exploring italy. the royal couple will also promote so—called slow fashion , meeting students fashion, meeting students showcasing sustainable garments. meanwhile, buckingham palace has also confirmed a state visit to italy and the vatican later this year to mark charles and camilla's 20th wedding anniversary. the trip will

>> maggie. sam. now let's get cracking because reform uk will hold the balance of power at the next general election, according to a major new mega poll of over 5000 voters, which for the first time has predicted in british politics a three way tie. and now nigel farage is holding the balance of power. in the poll's findings, the conservatives will win 178 seats, labour 174 and reform uk 175. now that is as tight as chris hope's wallet on a friday night, and that would be a dramatic rise from the five that reform won in 2020. for now, the most likely government outcome of this would point to a conservative reform uk coalition now. meanwhile, labour mps in 98 red wall seats are panicking that keir starmer isn't doing enough on immigration to keep the reform party at bay. but with many other labour mps in favour of freedom of movement and in fact some even wanting to
