group where he followed andrew gwynne, who was also sacked as a health minister. labour mp jo white spoke to gb news. >> well, i think they deserve to go. i have obviously i don't know what they said but clearly they crossed a line. that whatsapp group was set up in 2009 during the trigger ballot post. >> called trigger me timbers. >> called trigger me timbers. >> exactly. >> exactly. >> yeah. so that's why. >> yeah. so that's why. >> yes, it's a play on words. and so under jeremy corbyn, and so underjeremy corbyn, every mp had to go through a trigger ballot process and andrew gwynne i understand, was under threat. and so he tried to set up a group of supporters. >> supporters, friends. >> supporters, friends. >> yes. and so he felt in that environment he could cross the line and he was holding them in. i believe this is my interpretation with jokes and attacks on members of the public. >> trying to get them all jolly along, and they just went too far in what's called banter. >> exactly. >> exactly. >> in other news, the national police chiefs council spokesperson says police officers and staff should always be held to the highest standards and we must ensure that only

those who are suitable to wear the uniform enter and remain in policing. those comments come as the high court ruled the met police cannot dismiss officers by removing their vetting clearance. sergeant lino di maria successfully mounted a legal challenge after having his vetting removed over sexual assault allegations, which he denies. he was found to have no case to answer in respect of those allegations, and argued that having his vetting removed without the accusations being proved is a breach of his right to a fair trial. israel's prime minister says the gaza ceasefire will end if hamas does not return israeli hostages by midday on saturday, benjamin netanyahu warned of intense fighting if the hostages are not released. his comments echo those of us president donald trump, who earlier said the israel—hamas ceasefire should be cancelled if hostages held in gaza are not returned on time. terror group hamas announced last night that they will delay hostage releases planned for saturday until further notice.

and finally, chelsea footballer sam kerr, who called a metropolitan police officer stupid and white in january 2023, has been found not guilty of causing racially aggravated harassment. the australian international made the comments to pc stephen lovell during an incident in south—west london. she said she regretted the way she expressed herself. miss kerr denied using whiteness as an inqu denied using whiteness as an insult and claimed i believed it was him using his power and privilege over me because he was accusing me of being something i'm not. those are the latest headunes i'm not. those are the latest headlines for now. more news from me in an hour. >> for the very latest gb news direct to your smartphone, sign up to news alerts by scanning the qr code or go to gbnews.com/alerts. >> hello and welcome to headliners, your first look at tomorrow's top stories . with tomorrow's top stories. with three brilliant comedians telling jokes that shouldn't be

cut out of context to suit an ideological agenda. let's kick off with a look at some of the front pages the telegraph court gives gazans rights to settle in the uk. the times judge tweak hit support for assisted dying deal and the guardian zelenskyy. europe cannot protect ukraine without trump's support. kerry. hello. >> hello, josh. >> hello, josh. >> big news in the telegraph. >> big news in the telegraph. >> it's very big today. >> it's very big today. >> yes, big, big telegraph because we wanted to really read it. we want to get into this one. it is a broadsheet. yeah. >> should we. >> should we. >> do it then. >> do it then. >> let's go. >> let's go. >> seeing as. >> seeing as. >> it's hugely. >> it's hugely. >> in front of us, should we start with the big biggest of the big ones here, which is cork gives gazans right to settle in uk. >> so i think this is now when are you leaving the uk kerry. >> yeah. >> yeah. >> so going. >> so going. >> isn't it. >> isn't it. >> so this is a family of six. and i suppose what's going on is really down to they're realising there just aren't enough people on the marches. so they're trying to recruit a few more.
5:05 am
and of course marching along screaming we're all palestinians. but there'll be a few voices going, actually we are. so i don't know what's what's going on in the world, of course, is that jordan won't take any of them. egypt don't want to take any. >> of them. why wouldn't they want. >> to take.7 they don't want any of them. because in the previous times where they have, it's led to war every single time. >> it won't lead to war here. >> it won't lead to war here. >> tens of thousands of people being killed. and so we're saying, well, we'll take them. and, and so we're going to have a little bit more i don't know whether maybe they won't be into all the jihad and intifada these ones. maybe they'll be different. but the ones. >> who didn't vote hamas in. >> who didn't vote hamas in. >> yeah, exactly. yeah. yeah. so yeah. good news. how do you feel about it, paul.7 are you excited? >> about it, paul? are you excited? >> i'm not excited. i mean, this will raise a few eyebrows, i'm sure. i don't think it's that surprising, given the context of everything that's going on in our country at the moment, particularly with immigration. however, it raises a few big questions. you've already asked one of them why here, for instance? well, because they've got relatives here, they have got relatives here, they have got relatives here, but there's
5:06 am
lots of relatives and lots of people here. why couldn't they go anywhere else? i think they i think those questions are valid questions and could still be answered, even though they do have family here. and how many will be allowed in. and i'm not looking at this from the same angle as you guys to some degree. i'm looking at this purely from we are totally full already. how many more people? but that's a good thing. what you don't understand, what's so clever about this is actually you're going to be losing about 300,000 jews, so there will be space to take in. that's all. 300,000. only about 300,000 250,000 or so. so yeah, maybe the good news this is actually not just about palestinians or gazans. in this case. this is about any particular war zone using this law, this scheme that was set up specifically for ukrainians who had relatives here, that they could come over whilst as russia invaded them. and they're utilising this particular scheme wrongly. the home office are fighting it, but a lower court has said no, no, no, we're going to let you do it. and that's what we've seen
5:07 am
time and time again. we've got the stupid chicken nuggets guy we got yesterday. we did a story about someone who's a paedophile who they were like, oh, we want to protect his kids. and they're constantly allowing people to come in who might not. >> be sorry. i'm like, i think that's a bit judgemental. the , that's a bit judgemental. the, the, the chicken nugget story was that the son didn't want to go back home or to another country because there nuggets weren't as good as ours. >> i mean, look. >> i mean, look. >> look, this. >> look, this. >> country have the best chicken nuggets in this country. >> this awful country that no one wants to be in. and yet no one wants to be in. and yet no one wants. >> chicken nuggets. people want the chicken nuggets i do. yeah, i'm all about the nuggets. so this could have huge implications. one of them might be that the government actually decides for themselves, which means ourselves who we allow in to this country or not. yeah. and it's once again, rather than the courts. it's an example of bad law though, isn't it. and bad law though, isn't it. and bad rules. and i hate to pick on keir starmer when he's absolutely nothing to do with this story. but this is a man
5:08 am
who loves the rules, and a man who loves the rules, and a man who stands by the rules and the law, no matter how bad they are for the people it affects. and i think i think what we're going to have to do at some point is introduce something. they had it introduce something. they had it in the 70s and 80s, actually, they called it common sense. we need to we need to go back and get it. >> i don't 1531 00:08:16,608 --> 00:0
