6:05 am
does that? you know? and it's do the people actually know that it's for them? >> or do you know who the people are? who sent them? yeah, that's. >> exactly extremely cryptic. >> exactly extremely cryptic. >> what a lovely message you'd like to give to your husband or wife today. will help to share gbnews.com/yoursay. >> why it is such a good idea is that, you know, we sit here and we deliver so much depressing news of a morning. and today it just be nice to have love all around us as opposed to anything else. and we begin with some really depressing news from germany. police in munich are saying at least 30 people have been injured. this was after an asylum seeker drove into a crowd of people yesterday morning. >> well, the suspect, who has since been arrested, has been identified as a 24 year old male and is reported to have previously had his asylum application rejected. but deportation suspended. >> well, here in britain, it raises concerns about whether we are left vulnerable to a similar attack if the government fails to clamp down on illegal immigration. >> well, let's talk now to former adviser to michael gove, charlie rowley, who joins us in the studio. good to see you this
6:06 am
morning, charlie. good morning. what's your reaction to what we've seen in munich? another horrific car attack. >> well, as you say, germany. exactly as you say, it's another one. another one in germany, a horrific attack where people who are going about their everyday lives in the morning. it was a organised sort of march by trade unionists and a chap in a white mini, as you can see, has driven into the back of the people at the back of that protest, taking out up to 30 people, including children. it is a horrific it is another attack, as you say, something that we're getting used to and seeing this all too familiar sight. >> people just ask why charlie? they look at that and they think, what's he achieving? what statement is he making there? >> and that's the question . >> and that's the question. because, you know, it's coming up to a general election in germany where there's the rise of the afd. that's the far right, the. >> alternative conference going on. >> big security conference taking place this weekend. so all the security ministers,
6:07 am
defence ministers gathering in germany, including vice president jd vance, to be discussing how you can control your borders, how you can control security, how you can increase your defence spending to keep this threat of terror if it is a terrorist attack. i know it is a terrorist attack. i know it hasn't been labelled that yet, but it's you don't have to be too smart to work that one out, i don't think. but the question is, is it about people that come into the country, whether they're illegal immigrants or whether they are refugees, as is the case, whether applications are rejected or whether they are accepted, people are in this country or whether these are home—grown terrorists, because we have to live up to the fact that there will be many people sitting at home that are british citizens, whether they're born in this country or they've come in this country or they've come in through whatever routes, who are looking at things online that are being coerced into things that are wanting to commit acts of terror. >> to the point it's just a matter of time, surely, before it happens here. >> and we have seen it previously. not an attack necessarily on this scale, but the westminster bridge attack. remember all too well, the
6:08 am
borough market attacks. we've seen, obviously the manchester arena attacks, you know, and obviously more recently an attack in southport. and, you know, a young children's dance class. it is horrific the types of attacks that take place. >> i know i mean we were joking. >> i know i mean we were joking. >> we were jesting, we were talking in light about valentine's day at the start of the programme there. but this is the programme there. but this is the antithesis of what valentine's day is about. you know, on a day that should be about love, that is hatred, absolute hatred. what's involved there and pointless mindless violence as well. >> it's poisonous, you know. it is someone who has deliberately woken up in the morning at 1030 uk, time to go into a car, woken up in the morning at 1030 uk, time to go in
