story this hour. world leaders are gathering in munich for the annual security conference. there, with tensions high over ukraine and us diplomacy under scrutiny, david lammy, the foreign secretary, is meeting g7 allies today after donald trump's call with vladimir putin, which suggested ukraine may have to cede territory for peace. but kyiv insists no deals will be made without them involved. rejecting claims of three way talks with the us and russia. meanwhile, ukraine's air force says it shot down 73 out of more than 130 russian drones launched overnight, with others disrupted by electronic countermeasures. rachel reeves is under pressure over claims she used company expenses to buy gifts and exaggerated her bank of england experience, an investigation found. the chancellor was among three staff accused of using expenses to fund a lifestyle. the broadcaster, bbc, says she left the bank of england nine months earlier than she stated on her linkedin social media profile.

she, though, denies being investigated over expenses, and sir keir starmer says he has no concerns about her conduct. but the tories say reports raise serious questions for the chancellor. the uk says it won't overreact to donald trump's latest tariff threats, with senior minister pat mcfadden insisting they will wait to see what happens. the british chamber of commerce warns a trade war could drive up prices, urging the government to negotiate with the us. it comes after donald trump announced plans to impose reciprocal tariffs on countries that charge vat on us goods, calling it fair to all. the white house policy targets vat, saying it's unfair and could hit uk industries like automotive and pharmaceuticals. well, with £300 billion in uk us trade at stake, ministers hope britain could be exempt. bereaved families of terminally ill patients have urged mps to remember them as they debate

special getaway. but young love comes with the biggest price tag. 65% of 18 to 34 year olds are spending, compared to just 39 of those over 55. and if you're in london, chances are you're feeling extra romantic. it's the most loved up region. while the south west is keeping things low, key retailers and restaurants are already preparing for the rush tonight, as couples get set to spread the love and open their wallets. just before i hand you back to ben and nana, take a look at this. it's a real life whale of a tale, a kayakers close encounter with a humpback whale. it went viral after being briefly trapped in the whale's mouth. take a look at this footage here. adrian simancas was kayaking with his father when the massive creature surfaced and took a quick nibble of his yellow kayak just metres away. the footage was captured of the jaw dropping moment, and the father urged his son to stay calm. he said i thought i'd been eaten and it had swallowed me. but luckily the whale released
