starmer says he's ready and willing to put british troops into ukraine if a peace deal is reached. this comes ahead of the emergency meeting of european leaders today in paris to discuss the current situation in ukraine. the prime minister said the uk was ready to play a leading role in ukraine's defence by committing £3 billion a year until 2030. gb news spoke to health secretary wes streeting this morning about the government's plan. >> so as we work together with our friends in america and across europe and crucially, president zelenskyy and the ukrainians themselves, it's really important that we are preparing for a scenario in which a peace deal has been agreed and we are working with our allies to secure that peace and deter any future russian aggression. >> but the shadow home office minister, alicia kearns, thinks starmer's announcement is premature, reiterating that the war is still ongoing. >> he should be focused on, however, is that defence spending point that you are making? if he is saying that once we get to a deal and i
