defies cold turkey on any nation that defies us. i think that sir keir starmer will be lucky to come away from dc with a bag of duty free. >> that's one way of looking at it, martin. and welcome to washington dc, where within a couple of hours time the pm will be going into the oval office, have a sit down in front of the world*s press for five minutes with president donald trump. then lunch at 535, your time, and then the press conference in prime time, gb news 7 pm. tune in. it will be quite a moment. yeah, i think it is all to play for. there are three things they*ll be talking about today. they'll be talking about today. one will be ukraine. the deal to hand over some mineral rights to the to america should be signed here in washington, dc tomorrow with president zelenskyy and trump. and if that happens, that may the hope from the uk side is will give the us a reason to guarantee the independence of ukraine after a peace deal is signed. so what is happening

here is the uk wants, if possible, the us to guarantee some form of air cover, some form of ensuring that if putin comes again, as we are told, that might happen by the pm. sir keir starmer last night on the flight over, then the us might intervene and then it goes up to the european nations to step up, provide their own security force in ukraine to enforce that peace. and that's why we're peace. and that*s why we're seeing on sunday a meeting of european leaders with zelenskyy in london. 50 it's all happening very quickly. and it may be this war, the bloodshed is coming to an end. but on the on the us terms, they want to guarantee some mineral rights for the us as a price of that deal being agreed. so as a price of that deal being agreed. 50 other issues i mean the chagos islands i've got to say to you, martin, i understand it hasn't been raised at all it hasn*t been raised at all with anyone in the us embassy in the past three weeks. a big part of last night in the m53 went straight from the plane with the prime minister to that party. it's not being talked about by anybody. i know it's a big issue on the right of politics, where
