6:02 am
>> apparently more than half. >> apparently more than half. >> more than half. >> more than half. >> i'm surprised at that. >> i'm surprised at that. >> a fifth would definitely speak up. 40% admit they'd be a bit more hesitant, but would probably say something, and only 3% said they would definitely not say anything if their friend was really stinky. >> 3%. 3%. i think i'm in the 3%. >> i'm in the 3%. i wouldn't dare. >> i wouldn't dare. >> i wouldn't dare. >> it all if it was, let's say i'm real. i come in and i'm really, i really smell because i know you would. you two would talk about it and you go, oh, he doesn't have smell. >> yeah. i wouldn't say. >> yeah. i wouldn't say. >> to you, but would you not actually say one day and just say, listen. no, paul. >> you'd have to say something. you'd have to say, oh, am i a bit smelly today? and i'd have to say, yeah, thank god you said something, but i wouldn't. i wouldn't tell you. >> so if i said. i think i am i a bit smelly, then you would say yes, but you would never bring it up. >> never. >> never. >> never. >> never bring it up. no, i'd be too embarrassed. >> i always remember. >> i always remember. >> a i'd be worried about
6:03 am
embarrassing you. i may i may put an air freshener. >> yeah, yeah yeah, yeah. >> yeah, yeah yeah, yeah. >> yes. >> yes. >> are you trying to tell me something? everybody's looking at this. they're thinking. but but there was a there was a fella i worked with years ago, and i always remember there was someone else that worked at. it was at radio station, and he was an american, and he was quite brash. and he actually went up to this woman and he said, i'm sorry to say this, but i find i find your smell offensive was the words that he used. and i remember hearing it thinking, oh, no. and it was like this poor woman didn't know what to say. yeah. so. >> i mean, you'd be mortified. >> i mean, you'd be mortified. >> maybe it is. >> maybe it is. >> but you'd be mortified, wouldn't you? truth hurts. >> and all that stuff. >> and all that stuff. >> but i always think that must be such a difficult conversation, because mostly this ends up with air, doesn't it? if you're in a workplace, it would go to air, and then they have to take you into a room and tell you that you smell. that must be difficult. >> do you think there's an air smell thing? >> there's i know there's an air smell thing. yeah. loads of my friends have had issues in their offices. >> no. >> no. >> it goes to air. yeah, they. >> it goes to air. yeah, they. >> have to really. >> have to really. >> and then the person has to be
6:04 am
called in. yeah. mortifying. can you. >> imagine sometimes, you know, could it be medical or something like that. yeah. you know. i don't know i talk about can of worms now but. >> so anyway, if you, if you would be brutally honest let us know. >> gbnews.com/yoursay know where to scared. >> absolutely. we're too soft, aren't we. >> right. let's crack on with the main news. and it's serious stuff this morning because the man who was convicted of raping his ex—girlfriend in an attack in which three women died was found to have watched andrew tate videos before committing the crime. >> yes. carl clifford was found guilty of raping louise hunt before murdering her with a crossbow alongside her mother and sister. >> well, the 26 year old will be sentenced for all the crimes on tuesday. >> well, we're joined now by retired scotland yard detective mike neville. good to see you this morning, mike. and what's your reaction to this horrific case? >> well, this is a wicked and evil crime, isn't it? premeditated. this man should. clifford should be sent to prison for a very long time and never be released. in my view, it's. >> what about the claimed
6:05 am
influences behind all of this? >> well, the internet is a very wild place, and in this vile misogyny you get on there, if this has influenced him, then. but the trouble with in all these is what can you do? you know, these videos come from international places. you can't be controlled in the uk, and it's the weapons he used as well were legally bought. all we can do with him is to lock him up and make sure he never gets out, so he can never do this sort of thing again. >> the prosecution argued that this man watched ten videos andrew tate videos in the 24 hours before this attack. he was also watching pornography. can you see the link yourself between that online content and the violent attack, the sexual attack that was carried out the next day? >> well, there's obviously a link. you know, we've had video nasties, haven't we, for decades. the trouble is, if you have a wicked mind and these things can just simply make it worse. the question for the
6:06 am
government, of course, is how do you do you control it? as i've said, this is a global issue. you can have online safety acts in the united kingdom, but when information is being sent out from around the world, it'd be very difficult to control. >> okay, mike, thank you very much indeed. you mentioned the political side. let's talk to political side. let's talk to political commentator theo usherwood, who's here in the studio. and i mean, there are questions. i mean, even around what you would call a sort of lone wolf attack. you can't stop everything, sadly. but but this does leave us with some political questions, doesn't it? >> it does. and just to underscore what mike was saying in terms of the link, i mean, the prosecutor, alison morgan kc, was absolutely when she set this case out and it and before the obviously the guilty verdict, she was absolutely adamant that these videos there was a direct link between these videos that agam clifford had been watching. and of course, the fact that he raped louise hunt in what she described as
6:07 am
the final act of spite. and this was the two are intrinsically linked. now, politically, we have the online safety act due to come into force next spring, and that will require social media companies to take down illegal content. the problem comes, of course, for the government and this is the really thorny issues. you can go on the internet now and you can search for andrew tate on various social media platforms, and he can be found on all of the social media, social media platforms. but is that material illegal? and that's where and that's where the. and then there were the previous government came up with this legal but harmful definition, which was of course widely criticised. but this is the problem that the government is facing. we saw it with axel rudakubana, the southport murderer, currently serving 52 years. he was he was looking at violent, you know, horrendously violent material online. and the home secretary then turns up in the house of commons and says, well, i've spoken to the social media companies, but the material's still online. >> but there's i mean, it might
6:08 am
raise a good point, as critical as he was when he said, it's, you know, it's there can be a clear link between the effect these videos have on an evil mind. well, andrew tate would say, you know, well, nothing i'm publishing is illegal. it's, 1562 00:08:15,
