hope you're having a great weekend so far. i'm susan hendricks. our top story is a tropical storm warning for parts of florida. it was just issued a few hours ago. meanwhile tropical storms anna and bill keep moving across the atlantic. let's get the latest from reynolds. >> we're talking about two systems. two is company, three is a crowd, anna and bill and tropical depression which may become one before the day is out. first you see it here off the coast of tampa. you see the counterclockwise flow. this is a system expected to gain strength, expected to make landfall around midnight around apalachicola and alabama and flash flooding could be a possibility. two other systems, of course, you've got bill right over here. then of course you've got anna. anna not nearly as impressive of as we put this in motion, anna would be the first to go. the path of the national

hurricane center showing right over the islands, hispaniola, dominican republic, cuba. over land it's not executived to strengthen. possibly tuesday into wednesday and thursday, a depression and moving over cuba as we get early into wednesday. next storm will be bill. this storm moving a little farther north trajectory than moving west northwest. if it does, expected to strengthen category three, winds of 115 miles an hour. these storms are awfully fickle. they tend to wobble. a lot can change in the next 24, 36 hours. i'm sure change is coming. this is not the only show in town. we have a lot more to talk about, the national weather coming up. thanks for that with that storm warning up for florida because of the new tropical depression and two named stormed in the atlantic as reynolds mentioned there's a whole lot to keep an eye on this coming week.

for public office or members of congress are in this so they can go around pulling the plug on grandma, when you start making arguments like that, that's simply dishonest. >> reporter: the only really pointed exchange. >> i'd love to have a debate, just all-out, any time oxford style, if you like. >> reporter: college student pressing whether a public option would wipe out insurance companies. >> how in the world can a private corporation providing insurance compete with an entity that does not have to worry about making a profit, does not have to pay local property taxes. they do not have to -- they are not subject to local regulations. how can a company compete with that? >> it's good to see a young person who is very engaged and confident challenging the president to an oxford-style debate. i think this is good. this is good.

>> the first family's tour continues sunday, the grand canyon in arizona. then he wraps with the a speech to the vfw's annual convention, before heading back to washington as his fight for health reform reaches a critical change. ed henry, cnn, colorado. an american man sentenced to seven years hard labor in myanmar left the country with the senator who won his release. jim web met with leaders in myanmar to get john yettaw free. he was convicted for violating immigration laws for swimming to the home of suu kyi. he's happy but called yettaw's actions regrettable. >> we thought it was hurtful for the person he was trying to help. but at the same time on humanitarian grounds, i feel

fortunate that the government honored my request to allow him to come back here to thailand with me. >> senator web met with suu kyi during his visit to myanmar. he's the first member of congress to visit myanmar in more than a decade. nearly a dozen fires are burning in california right now and thousands of firefighters are doing everything they can to get them under control. it is difficult, though. the biggest fire in the santa cruz mountains has burned eight square miles so far. more than 2,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders. a state of emergency has been declared for santa cruz county. now, the fire is proving very difficult to fight because of the terrain there. it is certainly hard to get equipment and people to the fire, so crews are having to rely on support from firefighting aircraft. a drug operation is being blamed for another california fire that has burned more than 84,000 acres so far. the fire right mad cow started

marijuana camp. in the past month they are trying to get rid of marijuana operations tucked away in a local forest. a fire raced through a wedding tent killing 35 women and six children. a horrible story out of kuwait. authorities think faulty electrical wiring, buffet equipment. the chairs were made of very flammable materials. it moved very fast. the fire official said the fire lasted just three minutes. 58 people who were injured are still in the hospital. seven have severe burns. it looks like tomorrow may not be a commuter's nightmare in san francisco if talks to avoid the rails city on track. they made progress with management. they are facing a 7% pay cut and

reduced holiday pay. they had threatened to strike tomorrow, a move that would leave thousands of commuters stranded. a woman, her daughters and granddaughter kidnapped in oregon have now been rescued by california police. police say the girls estranged father kidnapped the family and planned to take them to mexico. he apparently stopped at this motel in bakersfield, california. the two daughters, ages 20 and 15, convinced their father to get some food. cops were patrolling the area and the girls flagged them down. their father is facing kidnapping and false imprisonment charges. for the first time in two years, michael vick is practicing with an nfl team. see how people are reacting to michael vehicle's presence.

parents of children who were victims of gun violence in chicago pleaded with people to turn in weapons.

they teamed up with police and commune leaders during a guns for gift cards yesterday. donations are down because of the economy but that didn't stop local leaders from encouraging people to give up their weapons. >> all of us are, i think, in the city much too aware of the shootings that have been taking place last year. particularly our children, our children who not only suffer from these shootings, some of them have ended up in cemeteries, some ended up in prisons as a result of it. >> it's been three years and they haven't caught the person who killed my son. i can tell you it's a stress, stress out of this world. i'm looking at this one weapon and it's out on the street. that's just unbelievable. >> chicago's gun buyback program has collected 5200 weapons so far this year. >> this is how a bunch of competitive eaters spent their

saturday. they are wolfing down as many funnel cakes as possible at minnesota's valley fair amusement park. this year's funnel eating contest is this, $1700 and world champion bragging rights. look at them go. a new york man known as eater x captured the title. he managed to eat nearly six pounds of funnel cake in ten minutes. imagine learning how to walk again after getting a new knee. right? tiger woods has figured out how to golf and do it pretty well. >> absolutely, susan. a year ago he was learning how to walk on the reconstructed knee. look how far he has come. back-to-back wins. today a shot at a record tying fifth career pga championship. in the lead for the third day, a two-shot advantage. just outside minneapolis, odds in his favor, woods never lost a major when leading after three rounds, 14 for 14 in his career. a victory today would be his 15th career major title, three

shy of jack mickelson. vick hasn't played nfl since 2006. he missed the last two seasons after pleading guilty and srveg two months in prison on dog fighting charges. dodger pitcher, the shot had such force it ricochet's into the stands. he was taken to the hospital where a ct span was negative. david rice hit in the head and went to the hospital. here is what happened to him in the fourth inning of the pitcher said he felt terrible, tried to contact him later and talked about it. his ct scan was negative. spent the night in the hospital. he managed to tell a joke off the field but he could tell deep down he was scared. ply of the day. go to the pitch. soccer fans, even if you're not.

authorities are checking into a ransom demand involving a freighter that mysteriously disappeared. contact was lost with the freighter, its cargo of timber and 15 member russian crew. they vanished while in the atlantic on july 28th. french marines say the ship is likely near cape verde off the coast of africa. finnish investigators say they are not sure if the demand for ransom is legit or not. the crew said it had been attacked by hijackers in swedish waters. if the ransom is legitimate it may be from a second group of hijackers. police in olympia washington shot and killed a patient in a hospital emergency room. now the investigators want to know how the man got into the hospital with three guns

undetected. officers found two of them loaded when they were called to the hospital about an unruly patient. >> at some point he started to get unruly. that was part of the initial car, suspicion of firearms and unruly behavior. the second time he becomes unruly, just asking him to do simple things to prepare him for being evaluated further. as he becomes more unruly and loud, the officer steps into the room. as he's stepping in, at some point in there, the subject reveals another. >> that's when the trouble started and the officer shot at the man. the hospital staff tried to save him but could not. 2500 people who protested and were arrested during civil rights demonstrations in birmingham, they are being pardoned. but ebony hall from wfma reports, some don't want their names wiped from police records. >> you don't have a weapon.

producing meat. recently former beatles sir paul mccartney launched a campaign which urges the public carnivorous cravings one day a week. the campaign says cutting down the red meat intake is an important step in tackling climate change. >> to encourage people no to not eat meat for one day of the week, monday, when they've overdone it over the weekend possibly. the idea is it is very beneficial for the environment. >> reporter: let's take a closer look at numbers. cows produce high levels of methane gas but belching. according to the epa, methane is a powerful greenhouse gas, 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide. a booming demand for beef means a staggering 18 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions come from livestock according to the u.s. while the entire transport sector -- cars, trucks, airplanes, combined -- only makes up 13% of all greenhouse

gas emissions. another issue is the water, land and food resources needed to raise livestock. so how much good does it do to cut meat out of your diet only once a week? biologists for the environmental group greenpeace say going meat-free one day a week will cut agricultural greenhouse gas emissions by 10% to 20%. according to a study by the university of chicago, a vegan driving an suv is actually more green than a meat eater who drives a hybrid. according to research based on a typical american diet and typical car usage, changes to your eating habits will have a bigger impact on the environment than the car you drive. >> some interesting facts. for more green prices and other important news about the environment, just go to our website, cnn.com/ecosolutions. hollywood had kung fu. now the internet was wong fu.

authorities are checking into a ransom demand involving a freighter that mysteriously vanished last month. it was sent to the finland-based company that owns the ship called the "arctic sea." contact was lost with the freightest, its cargo of timber and the 15-member russian crew. they vanished while it was in the atlantic on july 28th. french marines say the ship is likely off west africa near cape verde. finnish investigators say they aren't sure if it is for ransom or not. authorities say if the ransom is in fact legitimate, it may be from a second group of hijackers. police in olympia, washington shot and killed a patient in a hospital emergency room. investigators want to know how the man got into the hospital with three guns undetected. officers found two of them loaded when they were called to the hospital about an unruly

patient. >> at some point he starts getting more unruly, and that was part of the original call as well, was the suspicion of firearms an unruly behavior. the second time he starts becoming unruly just with simple asking him to do simple things to prepare for being evaluated further. and as he becomes more unruly and gets loud, the officer steps in to the room. as he's stepping in, at some point in there this subject produces another handgun. >> that is when a struggle started and an officer shot at the man. the hospital staff tried to save him but could not. 2,500 people who protested and were arrested during civil rights demonstrations in birmingham are being pardoned. but as eboni hall from affiliate wbma reports, some of those arrested don't want their names wiped from police records. >> you don't have a weapon. you got a book. >> reporter: the reverend's work was there as other foot soldiers

. parts of florida are under a tropical storm warning. a tropical depression that just formed in the atlantic is about 90 miles away from tampa. it's expected to be near florida's northern gulf coast by later this be afternoon. president obama and his family will tour the grand canyon today. yesterday they watched old faithful at yellowstone national park. meanwhile, the president also held his last town hall meeting to perform health care reform out west yesterday. during a meeting in colorado, he talked about his late grandmother when addressing people's concerns about his plan to overhaul the current system. a third round of retainees are on trial today for protests during iran's presidential election in june. more than 1,000 people were

arrested when the government cracked down on demonstrations that took place after the heavily disputed election. those are just some of the stories making headlines on hln this sunday. i'm susan hendricks. to north carolina now where police in a rural town are taking a new look at some cold cases. evidence suggests they may have been the work of a serial killer. david mattingly looks at why investigators are giving the cases new attention. >> reporter: if someone were looking for a place to get away with murder in north carolina, ed edgecomb county's seven bridges road would be the place. since 2005 remains of five women, all african-american and suspected prostitutes have been found here among miles of woods an crops. there are any number of places you can pull off here, like this spot right here. you can just drive off and disappear into the woods in a matter of seconds. sadly, that's what's been happening to these women.

they disappear, never to be seen alive again. is the work of a serial killer? >> yes, i believe it is. yeah, i think the fact that the bodies have been found close together, really would argue for a serial killer. >> reporter: michael teague was once the state's top forensic psychologist and believes the killer is someone who could have a lot in common with his victims. >> their economic level, their background, again the same race, so i think it's a person that would fit very easily within the environment. >> reporter: all of the victims were last seen in the town of rocky mountain. we went to where they came from, an area where prostitutes work neighborhood streets. >> typically this is the area. >> reporter: but we found the streets deserted. cleared by fear. prostitutes are easy targets for killers, living fragile lives on society's fringes. still, councilman andre knight says it shouldn't have taken years for the town to take notice. is it just a matter of race, or is it possibly because of what they do for a living? >> i think it's a combination of

both. because even what a person does, they still have human rights. >> reporter: a turning point in public awareness and the investigation itself was the fifth victim. she was known to her friends as "sunshine." friends and family publicly demanded justice. local authorities asked the fbi to assist. like the other victims, she disappeared from rocky mountain. her body was found in june off seven bridges road. from the streets of rocky mount, it is only a 15-minute drive to get to places just like this. for all practical purposes, it's the middle of nowhere. and this is where investigators say that the victims are being held. they won't give us a lot of detail but they do tell us that two of the victims were strangled, one was stabbed and beaten. three other rocky mount women who police say are not prostitutes are currently missing. the sheriff of edgecomb county calls this a critical time in

the investigation, leading many to hope that this lonely country road will soon lead to a killer. david mattingly, cnn, rocky mount, north carolina. it looks like tomorrow may not be a commuter's nightmare in san francisco if talks to avoid the rail strike stay on track. the union that represents b.a.r.t. workers say they made progress with management yesterday and talks will continue. public transportation workers are facing a 7% pay cut and reduced holiday pay. they had threatened to strike tomorrow, a move that would leave thousands of commuters stranded. a woman, her daughters and granddaughter kidnapped in oregon have now been rescued by california police. police say the girl's estranged father kidnapped the family and planned to take them to mexico. he apparently stopped at this motel in bakersfield, california. the two daughters, ages 20 and 15, convinced their father to let them get some food. cops were patrolling the area

authorities are checking into a ransom demand involving a freighter that mysteriously vanished last month. it was sent to a company that owned the ship called the "arctic sea." the freighter is lost, timber and a 15-member russian crew. they vanished on september 8. they're not sure if the demand for ransom is legit or not. four days before the ship disappeared, the crew said it had been attacked by hijackers in finnish waters. if the ransom is legitimate, it may be from a second group of hijackers. police shot and killed a patient in a hospital emergency room. now investigators want to know how the man got into the hospital with three guns undetected. officers found two of them loaded when they were called to the hospital about an unruly patient. >> at some point he starts

living? >> i think it's a combination of both, because even what a person does, they still have human rights. >> a turning point in public awareness and the investigation itself was the fifth victim. jarnice, known to her friends as sunshine, friends and family publicly demanded justice. local authorities asked the fbi to assist. like other victims, hargrove disappeared from rocky mount. her body was found in june off seven bridges road. from the streets of rocky mount, it's only about a 15-minute drive to get to places like this. for all practical purposes, it's the middle of nowhere. and this is where investigators say the victims are being killed. they won't give us a lot of detail about what they're finding, but they do tell us that two of the victims were strangled, one was stabbed and beaten. three other rocky mount women who police say are not prostitutes are currently missing. the sheriff of edgecombe county calls this a critical time in

i hope you're having a great weekend so far. i'm susan hendricks. a tropical storm warning for parts of florida was just issued a few hours ago. meanwhile, tropical storms ana and bill keep moving across the atlantic. let's get the latest from reynolds wolf and get all the details. hey, reynolds. >> two is company and three's a crowd. we've got ana and bill and we've got another one that may become a storm before the day is out. right along the coast in tampa, florida, this is expected to gain strength and as it does so is expected to make landfall sometime around midnight tonight and could settle in parts of alabama and flash flooding is a possibility. we've got two other systems we're talking about. bill right over here, and of course you've got ana. ana not near as impressive. as we put this in motion, ana would be the first to go. we have the path of the national hurricane center showing the

storm going right over the islands, back over the dominican republic to cuba, and with that reactions to land, it is not expected to strengthen that much. possibly a tropical storm tuesday and wednesday as a depression and moving into cuba as we get into early wednesday. next storm up will be bill, this storm moving a little farther north and then moving a little more to the west/northwest, and as it does, it's expected to strengthen to a category 3 storm with winds to 120 miles an hour. they don't roll from point to point, they tend to wobble, so a lot of changes that could occur in the next 24 to 36 and certainly 48 hours. this is not the only show in town. we've got lots to talk about, especially national weather, coming up in a few minutes right here on hln. >> because of that storm warning in florida, and with two named storms in the atlantic, as reynolds mentioned, there is a whole lot to keep an eye on this

parts of florida are under a tropical storm warning. a tropical depression that just formed in the atlantic is about 90 miles away from tampa. it's expected to be near florida's northern gulf coast by later this afternoon. president obama and his family will tour the grand canyon today. yesterday they watched old faithful at yellowstone national park. meanwhile, the president also held his last town hall meeting to promote health care reform out west yesterday. during a meeting in colorado, he talked about his late grandmother when addressing people's concerns about liz plahis plans to overhaul the current system. about 3,000 detainees were

being held during the elections in june. about 1,000 people are still being held after the disputed election. i'm susan hendricks. to north carolina now where police in a rural town are taking a look at cold cases. evidence suggests they may have been the work of a serial killer. david maddingly looks at why the investigators are giving the cases new attention. >> if someone were looking for a place to get away with murder in north carolina, edgecombe county's seven bridges road might be the place to go. >> nothing. nothing but trees and pastures. >> since 2005, the remains of five women, all african-american and suspended prostitutes have been found here among miles of woods and crops. >> there are any number of places you can pull off here, like this spot right here, you can just drive off and disappear in the woods in a matter of seconds. sadly, that's what's been

for a living? >> i think it's a combination of both. because even what a person does, they still have human rights. >> a turning point in public awareness and the investigation itself was the fifth victim. jarnice hargrove, known to her friends as sunshine. family and friends demanded justice. they asked family and friends to assist. like other victims, hargrove disappeared in rocky mount. sh her body was found in june off seven bridges road. for all practical purposes, it's the middle of nowhere. and this is where investigators say the victims are being killed. they won't give us a lot of detail about what they're finding, but they do tell us two of the victims were strangled, one stabbed and beaten. three other rocky mount women who police say are not prostitutes are currently missing. the sheriff of edgecombe county

on his visit to myanmar. he is the first member of congress to visit myanmar in more than a decade. there are reports that at least four people were injured. the quake registered 7.0 and was on sumatra, an indonesia island. who can forget the quake in 2004 when 270,000 people were killed. nearly a dozen fires are burning in california right now, and thousands of firefighters are doing everything they can to get them under control. it is difficult, though. the biggest fire in the santa cruz mountains has burned eight square miles so far. more than 2,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders. a state of emergency has been declared for santa cruz county. the fire is proving very difficult to fight because of the terrain there. it is certainly hard to get equipment and people to the fire, so crews are having to

rely on support from firefighting aircraft. a drug operation is being blamed for another california fire that has burned more than 84,000 acres so far. the fire right now is 35% contained and some homes have been evacuated. authorities in the l.a. area say it started at an illegal marijuana camp. in the past month, they have been trying to get rid of marijuana operations tucked away in a local forest. a fire raced through a wedding tent killing 35 women and 6 children. a horrible story out of kuwait. authorities think faulty electrical wiring, faulty equipment or intense coals may be to blame. the fire moved very fast. the fire chief said the fire lasted just three minutes. 53 people who were injured are still in the hospital. seven have severe burns. for the first time in two years, michael vick is practicing with an nfl team.

well our top story on this sunday is a tropical storm warning for parts of florida. it was just issued a few hours ago. meanwhile tropical storms ana and bill keep moving across the atlantic. let's get the very latest now from meteorologist reynolds wolf who has all the details. hey reynolds. >> hey, we're talking about three systems here. two's company but three's a crowd. ana, bill, then tropical depression 4 which may become claudette. this system is actually expecting to gain strength. you see the system expected to gain strength and as it does so it is expected to make landfall some time around midnight tonight near ap. latch cohas, and it could settle in parts of alabama and flash flooding could be a possibility. two other systems, bill right over here, then you've got ana, ana not nearly as impressive. as we put this into motion, let's see ana would be the first to go. notice the path from the

authorities are checking into a ransom demand involving a freighter that mysteriously vanished last month. it was sent with the finland-based company that owns the ship called the "arctic sea." contact was lost with the freighter, its cargo of timber and the 15-member russian crew. they vanished while in the atlantic on july 28th. french marines say the ship is likely near cape verde off west africa. finnish investigators say they are not sure if the demand for ransom is legit or not. four days before the ship disappeared, the crusade it had been attacked by hijackers in swedish waters. authorities say if the ransom is, in fact, legitimate, it may be from a second group of hijackers. police in olympia, washington, shot and killed a patient in a hospital emergency room. now investigators want to know how the man got into the hospital with three guns undetected. officers found two of them loaded when they were called to the hospital about an unruly patient.

parts of florida are under a tropical storm warning. a tropical depression that just formed in the atlantic is about 90 miles away from tampa. it's expected to be near florida's northern gulf coast by later this afternoon. president obama and his family will tour the grand canyon today. yesterday they watched old faithful at yellowstone national park. meanwhile, the president also held his last town hall meeting to promote health care reform out west yesterday. during a meeting in colorado, he talked about his late grandmother when addressing people's concerns about his plan to overhaul the current system. a third round of detainees are on trial today for protests during iran's presidential election in june. more than 1,000 people were

arrested when the government cracked down on demonstrations that took place after the heavily disputed election. those are just some of the stories making headlines on hln this sunday. i'm susan hendricks. to north carolina now, where police in a rural town are taking a new look at some cold cases. evidence suggests they may have been the work of a serial killer. david mattingly looks at why investigators are giving the cases new attention. >> reporter: if someone were looking for a place to get away with murder in north carolina, edgecomb county's seven bridges road might be the place to go. nothing, nothing but trees and pastures. since 2005, the remains of five women, all african-american and suspected prostitutes have been found here among miles of woods and crops. there are any number of places you can pull off here, like this spot right here. you can just drive off and disappear into the woods in a matter of seconds. sadly, that's what's been happening to these women. they disappear, never to be seen alive again.

is this the work of a serial killer? >> yes, i believe it is. yeah, i think the fact that the bodies have been found close together, really would argue for a serial killer. >> reporter: michael teague was once the state's top forensic psychologist and believes the killer is someone who could have a lot in common with his victims. >> their economic level, their background, again, the same race, so i think it's a person that would fit very easily within the environment. >> reporter: all of the victims were last seen in the town of rocky mountain. we went to where they came from, an area where prostitutes work neighborhood streets. >> typically this is the area. >> reporter: but we found the streets deserted. cleared by fear. prostitutes are easy targets for killers, living fragile lives on society's fringes. still, councilman andre knight says it shouldn't have taken years for the town to take notice. is it just a matter of race, or is it possibly because of what they do for a living? >> i think it's a combination of both.

because even what a person does, they still have human rights. >> reporter: a turning point in public awareness and the investigation itself was the fifth victim. jarnice hargrove, known to her family and friends as "sunshine." friends and family publicly demanded justice. local authorities asked the fbi to assist. like the other victims, hargrove disappeared from rocky mount. her body was found in june off seven bridges road. from the streets of rocky mount, it's only about a 15-minute drive to get to places just like this. for all practical purposes, it's the middle of nowhere. and this is where investigators say that the victims are being killed. they won't give us a lot of debail detail about what they're finding, but two of the victims were strangled, one was stabbed and beaten. three other rocky mount women who police say are not prostitutes are currently missing. the sheriff of edgecomb county

calls this a critical time in the investigation, leading many to hope that this lonely country road will soon lead to a killer. david mattingly, cnn, rocky mount, north carolina. it looks like tomorrow may not be a commuter's nightmare in san francisco if talks to avoid the rail strike stay on track. the union that represents b.a.r.t. workers say they made progress with management yesterday and talks will continue. public transportation workers are facing a 7% pay cut and reduced holiday pay. they had threatened to strike tomorrow, a move that would leave thousands of commuters stranded. a woman, her daughters and granddaughter kidnapped in oregon have now been rescued by california police. police say the girl's estranged father kidnapped the family and planned to take them to mexico. he apparently stopped at this motel in bakersfield, california. the two daughters, ages 20 and 15, convinced their father to let them get some food. cops were patrolling the area and the girls flagged them down.

their father is now facing kidnapping and false imprisonment charges. an american man who was sentenced to seven years hard labor in myanmar has left the country with the senator who won his release. senator jim webb met with leaders in myanmar to get john yettaw freed. yettaw was convicted of violating immigration laws for swimming to the home of opposition leader aung san suu kyi. webb is happy with the release but called yettaw's actions regrettable. >> we thought it was hurtful to the person that he thought he was trying to help. i don't think he is a mean-spirited human being. but at the same time, on humanitarian grounds, i feel fortunate that the government honored my request to allow him to come back here to thailand with me. >> senator webb met with suu kyi during his visit to myanmar. he is the first member of congress to visit myanmar in

morning a decade. a powerful earthquake has hit western indonesia. there are reports that at least four people were injured. the quake registered a magnitude 7.0 and was centered about 70 miles off of sumatra island. it did not touch off a tsunami warning. who can forget 2004 when a huge quake off western indonesia triggered a powerful tsunami. 230,000 people were killed. nearly a dozen fires are burning in california right now and thousands of firefighters are doing everything they can to get them under control. it is difficult though. the biggest fire in the santa cruz mountains has burned eight square miles so far. more than 2,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders. a state of emergency has been declared for santa cruz county. the fire is proving very difficult to fight because of the terrain there. it is certainly hard to get equipment and people to the fire, so crews are having to rely on support from

firefighting aircraft. a drug operation is being blamed for another california fire that has burned more than 84,000 acres so far. the fire right now is 35% contained and some homes have been evacuated. authorities in the l.a. area say it started at an illegal marijuana camp. in the past month, they've been trying to get rid of marijuana operations tucked away in a local forest. a fire raced through a wedding tent killing 35 women and six children. a horrible story out of kuwait. authorities think faulty electrical wiring, a problem with buffet equipment or intense coals may be to blame for this. the chairs in the tent were also made of very flammable materials. it moved very fast. the fire department chief says the fire lasted just three minutes. 58 people who were injured are still in the hospital. seven have severe burns. are you thinking about buying a new car using that cash
