she's been following this case since day one. randi, this is a huge development. what is the latest? what's your understanding of what all this means in these documents? >> reporter: this is pretty big news, richelle. i can tell you that. i have the search warrant and the affidavit here with me. it was filed in houston today, made public in houston. cnn obtained it. i can tell you that the big headline coming out of it, as you just said, is that it has been determined that at the time of his death, quoting here from the affidavit, toxicology analysis shows that michael jackson had lethal levels of propofol in his blood. for those of you who may not be familiar with propofol, also known as diprivan, it's a powerful sedative really only supposed to be used in a hospital setting. there's a lot of risk involved with using it outside a hospital setting. a patient has to be monitored. their oxygen levels have to be monitored. so this is really reserved for the hospital use. i can tell you that according to the affidavit, which i'm holding, dr. conrad murray was
4:36 pm
interviewed by authorities, and he stated that he was michael jackson's personal physician. as we know, he was at the house with michael jackson the day that he suffered cardiac arrest. he told police that he administered several drugs in the early morning hours of june 25th, which is day that michael jackson died. this is according to the documents. dr. conrad murray admitted to detectives that he had administered 25 milligrams of propofol, that's the sedative, along with lid cane to jackson intravenously in those early morning hour. apparently, according to these documents, dr. murray feared that michael jackson was forming an addiction to this drug, to the propofol. and he was trying to wean him off it. originally he had been giving him 50 milligrams of it and was trying to bring that down to 25 milligrams. then on the morning jackson died, according to these documents, dr. murray tried to induce sleep without using propofol at all. he said he gave jackson valium at 1:30. we know michael jackson had been
4:37 pm
suffering insomnia for quite some time. he gave him valium. that didn't work. he injected lor razz pam, apparently, at 2:00 a.m. according to the paper work. at 3:00 michael jackson was still awake. he tried another drug. then just over the next few hours, then again at 10:40 a.m., just a few hours before michael jackson collapsed, dr. murray told detectives that he administered the 25 milligrams of propofol to michael jackson because he repeatedly demanded the drug. now, richelle, it's really important to poind out here, we don't know that propofol is actually what killed michael jackson. what's important to point out here is that we know that there were lethal levels of it, according to these toxicology tests at the coroner's office. again, he could have had numerous drugs in his system. we're not sure if this is the specific drug that killed him. >> that's a good point to give us that type of perspective. he did -- for him to acknowledge, say he was trying to wean him off of it, he's basically saying i've been giving it to him other times, though, as well, correct?
4:38 pm
>> reporter: right, right. we do know also a source with knowledge of the investigation told cnn weeks ago that dr. murray had given michael jackson the powerful sedative, propofol, within 24 hours of his death. and we already knew that according to authorities they believed at the time that propofol is what killed him. again, we don't have that confirmed yet today. so we do know that he has -- he certainly hasn't been saying he never gave it to him, according to our sources, at least. he has been cooperating. he was interviewed twice by investigators. there was talk of a third interview, but that never did happen. and really up until now, he's always been described as a witness, not a suspect. not a suspect by his attorneys. but according to this affidavit for this search warrant, which was executed at his clinic in houston, things may have changed. because the police officer who signed this affidavit said that he believes that they have found evidence of the crime of manslaughter at the address listed here in harris county, texas, which is dr. conrad
4:39 pm
murray's houston clinic. so that means that we may see a big change here for dr. conrad murray. >> randi, where is he now? >> reporter: last check he was in las vegas where he also has a clinic. we know his clinic in houston was searched. his clinic in las vegas was searched. his home in las vegas was searched. since this whole thing happened, since michael jackson died, he's received so many death threats he's been under the care of a bodyguard 24/7. he can't go to work. his home may be foreclosed on because he can't earn any money. he was supposed to work for michael jackson on tour. obviously that didn't happen. he has been in las vegas, where he is today, we don't know. >> you said yourself there seems to have been some sort of shift. any idea what he might be charged with? where are we going with this? >> reporter: well, it sounds like he could be -- they were looking from evidence of so many different things when they
4:40 pm
executed these previous search warrants, looking for evidence of manslaughter, that would be one. it seems according to this search warrant they found evidence of manslaughter. that may very well be what he ends up being charged with if he's charged. they're also looking for evidence of prescribing to an addict, of overprescribing to an addict. michael jackson being the addict in this case. there may be a number of charges coming down if there are any charges at all. >> all right. randi kaye, thank you for that wrap up and that perspective. you've been on this story from day one. that's a lot of information. thank you, randi. >> thank you. all right. continuing with the day's news on some scary moments for a little girl in florida. rescue workers were called in after her arm got stuck in a pool skimmer. local affiliates report the child is 3 years old. this happened at a condominium complex pool. while her mother held her head above water, several workers used jackhammers, saws, other tools to get the skimmer opened. in the end they actually had to take her to the hospital with parts of the skimmer's parts
