some conservatives are threatening to pull their kids out of school tomorrow so they will not be exposed to the president's address. the speech will be broadcast in schools on the internet right wing radio. the president is trying to indoctrine nate kids with an agenda. white house officials stay is silly. he just wants to tell kids to stay in school and get good grades. i-reporter, sharing their views on the president's back-to-school address. 14-year-old from georgia and another from washington both had this to say. let's listen. >> as a student i believe that president obama may be trying to push his political view, opinion and agenda on us. also, students will be able to vote in the next election and i think mr. he wants a chance to win their votes. in fought, i stand corrected. i don't believe we should go through the experience of not going to school or sending our

louisville, kentucky. richard lui spoke with him last night. this has got to the have parents at this church worried and even people in the larger community worried as well, richard. what's going on? >> yeah. a lot of reaction when you look at this, richelle. with the jaycee duggard case, and supposed to be in recovery, phil greeto, really wasn't, as we now know, that could be scaring church pa riciners at this moment. how he handles questionable situations while she in recovery? >> i've learned that, that i have to change the way that i think in order to change my actions and my behaviors, and i've learned a lot of things as far as what situations not to place myself in and when i'm having problems on emotion level, to seek out counsel from other people, such as my pastor or other members of the church. >> okay. that pastor sitting next to him, you saw in the picture, the

church has around ten children, about 50 members. one member, also a former deacon told our affiliate never straight forward about his background until the former deacon confronted him. >> i don't want to take the chance. >> all right. so you're saying he did not want to take a chance with this issue. saying that, again, that he was not straight forward with them in the past and so he confronted him personally with the actual rap sheet when he brought it to him. the pastor or or darined him also told me he was surprised here when he heard about his background but believed here, richelle, his faith was of second and third chances in life. >> i saw some of those interviews, richard. he said that this pastor and this church meant a lot it him because they gave him a second chance. to would do what it took to allay their feerps how far is he willing to go with that? you pose a very spark question to him about castration.

if you have kids, going back to school tomorrow, health officials say they're starting to see swine flu cases on campuses across the country. the worst right now at washington state university. at least 2,000 students have reported symptom of the h1n1 flu virus. on our sister network cnn the head of the cdc says the situation's unusual. >> with schools back in session, particularly in the southeast of

the u.s., but also in many parts of the country, we're seeing a fair amount of inflew sense sa. that's very unusual for this time of the year. >> health officials are racing to get millions of swine flu vaccinations ready. the cdc says the shots won't be ready, though, until next month. crews are working as fast as they can to fix a crack in the san francisco oakland bay bridge by tomorrow morning. the crack was discovered in the 73-year-old bridge saturday when workers were replacing a portion of it with a new double-deck section. the damage link is two inches thick and was cracked half way through. the contractor worked overnight to produce the wells needed to repair on a chartered jet. still transportation officials worries bridge may not reopen by 5:00 a.m. local time tomorrow as scheduled. >> as soon as it's done we're going to open the bridge, and that's about all we can say right now, and i can tell you all of the engineers, all of the

and jaycee dugard's hometown never forgot about her. a parade showing support and followed the same route that marked the tenth anniversary of her disappearance. it was in the option direction. hundreds walked through the town wearing dugard's favorite color. pink's in she wasn't there. they raised an $10,000 for jaycee and her two daughters. and phillip and nancy garrido pleaded not guilty to 29 counts in connection with dugard's disappearance. ever heard of the saying, i went to a fight and a hockey game broke out? in this case, not hockey. the canadian lacrosse championship. started with two players in the new west ministers, hit a player. that caused a bench-clearing brawl. it lasted five minutes. yes, and resulted in 173 penalty minutes. brawls like this one are not

with a kitchen knife and ran when it broke. she was not seriously hurt. she managed to call 911. police eventually arrested them. local media reports the son told the friend the killing to be a club initiation. those boys are in police custody right now. police say a boy missing nearly two years was found alive behind a wall. in his grandmother's home. ricky shakenda will be 7 next week. police in illinois say they found him friday with his mom in a secret room about the height of a washing machine. he disappeared soon after. his dad wants custody. that was in 2007. >> we let him out of the car and he ran around like he never seen the outdoors. actually very sad. surprisingly ricksy in very good spirits. for someone who'sin isolated in that house with no other outside beings, he's very social. very polite and talkative little

boy. >> police say talkative, polite in good spirits. he's staying with his father. relatives it under supervision of state child welfare worker. a pennsylvania coroner says more test, needed to determine the causes of death 6 a 4-year-old boy stuffed in a septic tank. wyatt thomas was last seen yeah 6:00 p.m. friday after going outside to play with his sisters. they have a known suspect and charges could be filed later today. the boy's father did not say, he's being interviewed. the septic tank appeared to be tampered with. boyte had a heart condition that required him to take daily medicine. a swedish charity is accusing american troops of storming through a hospital in central afghanistan in search of taliban fighters and u.s. forces broke down doors and tied up four hospital guards. he says they also searched the female ward of the hospital which he called very

hands of predators. not all case, reported, and i see this gentleman taking an opportunity to have his moments in fame on television, and he had stating his case, and he is -- he has been released. he has served his time. he is probably on probation and doing his counseling and therapy. >> my understanding is that his actual probation is over. that part is over, but she a registered sex offender for life. that part is true. >> caller: right, right. >> yes. >> caller: and so he's allowed by law his second chance and he is finding his flas a church where a minister is open to taking him in and giving him that second chance, and this, i feel, that the members of the church and the parents need to educate themselves to use the internet as a tool to find out how much statistics are out there's in their own community. how much registered sex offenders there are with a ten-mile radius of him and they should all stand together and unite and say, let's give our children a chance before we give him a second chance.

well, the white house just published president obama's speech to schoolchildren the day before he's going to deliver it, hopefully to full fears to rest and conservatives are threatening to pull their kids out of school tomorrow so they will not be xpoekzed to the address. featuring the broadcast on the internet, right wing commentator say the president plans to indoctrinate kids in a socialist agenda and ideas. the white house says that's silly. he just wants kids to stay in school to get good grades. a couple of excerpts from the speech that the white house just put out. this is one. he will tell the students, you can't drop out of school and just drop into a good job.

he was very energized. >> yes, they were. well, these are people, obviously, who are big supporters of the president. but that said, there is a lot of nervousness here. these are people who have lost jobs. so the president was trying to make the case at the top of his remarks that the economy is on its way back. he said we're on the road to recovery. he also got into something that they would be pleased to hear, which is a person who is going to be the point person on manufacturing for the president. and that is ron bloom. he used to work with the steel workers, and now he's going to be the senior counselor to the president on manufacturing dealing with policy, strategic planning, et cetera. president also, as you might expect, talked about health care, it was a big subject here. and something that people feel very strongly about. a lot of the people here are proponents of that so-called public option. it's very controversial, but here is how the president explained why to him it's important.
