leash. first, the body of a young woman believed to be a missing yale student has been found. it was found sunday afternoon behind a wall in a medical building where annie le worked. the remains have not been identified, but police assume they're hers, and they're calling it a homicide. police say her fiance is not a suspect. >> i met earlier this evening with annie's family, with her fiance and his family, and i conveyed to them all the deeply felt support of the entire yale university community. >> police are still searching through a large amount of evidence, including blood-stained clothing. in about 15 minutes, correspondent richard lui will explain where the investigation goes from here. new this morning, a new message supposedly from osama bin laden says that president

a yale grad student should have been getting married yesterday. instead they found the body that they believe is annie le. correspondent richard lui, how heartbreaking, how awful for her family. what's next on the investigation? >> what we know right now is that one piece of evidence police are focusing on is blood-stained clothing. they're not the same clothes that le was wearing in the video you see here. they're not linked here, robin, to the case at all. >> what are police trying to find there? >> the fbi says it's routine here to, quote, follow the trash in this kind of investigation. the facility is in hartford, connecticut, and that's where all the garbage from the yale lab normally goes. any evidence that was there could be destroyed by now. the trash is usually incinerated two to three days after it arrives there. >> we'll have more on this case throughout the morning. do not expect another apology from congressman joe wilson from "you lie" outburst. democrats want him to say "i'm sorry" on the floor. wilson says the president accepted his first apology and that that's enough.

been waging a campaign against militants. british officials said the soldier was on foot patrol sunday when he was killed. 30 minutes past the hour. hope you got to sleep in maybe on a monday. i'm robin meade. morning, sunshine. welcome back. the health care debate is moving toward a compromise. top senators on both sides of the argument now say a house health care bill drafted by democrats and strongly opposed by republicans is dead. the focus is on a compromise being worked in the senate. president obama says he's sure congress will pass a good health care bill, but the buck stops with him. >> i intend to be president for a while and once this bill passes, i own it. and if people look and say, you know what? this hasn't reduced my costs. my premiums are still going up 25%, insurance companies are still jerking me around, i'm the one who's going to be held responsible. >> well, one top democrat says that the senate's health care bill would have a public option

>> no. >> what's the deal? >> it's the recession. bosses have to make sure the airlines survive. they made the biggest cuts in the number of seats flying since right after 9/11. it's called capacity. of course, it's recession. they cannot afford to have empty seats right now. for you, though, it means fewer flights to choose from, crowded planes. here is the thing. usually, it means higher prices. maybe not this time. experts say we may not see a jump in fares because there's just not enough people flying right now. they say that may not happen until the economy starts to recover. your car. new set of tires. if you like to buy the cheap ones, you may not see them as much anymore. that's because of the big trade fight between the u.s. and china. it's going to mean higher prices. president obama, pardon me, slapped new tariffs up to 30% on tires from china after unions complained that the very cheap imports were costing american j

a sweatshirt found in the hills of oakland, california, may belong to a missing 5-year-old boy. hassani campbell was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt when he disappeared july 10th. a small gray sweatshirt was found yesterday afternoon. police are now analyzing it for clues. >> it's hard to tell. it's covered with a lot of dirt. there's grass on it. it's ripped in places. we don't really want to hanl it because if there is any evidence we don't want to contaminate it. >> campbell's foster parents were arrested last month on suspicion of murder, but were later released because of lack of evidence to file charges. however, detectives say that the couple is still a focus of their investigation. don't expect another apology from congressman joe wilson for his "you lie" outburst. democratic leaders want him to say "i'm sorry" on the house floor for yelling at president obama during his health care

yesterday. instead, police have found a body that they now think is 24-year-old annie le. investigators are doing tests, trying to positively id her. correspondent richard lieu, the investigation had gone from a missing persons case to a homicide now. so what is next for the police? >> yeah, you know what they're doing right now, focusing on some clothes that are bloodstained that they had found there on the location. officers finding it hidden in the ceiling tiles where le was last seen alive. they're not the same clothes she was wearing in surveillance video. police are testing the clothes. it's possible the clothes aren't linked to the case at all. it's one piece at this moment. >> there was also a lot of police activity at a trash facility. what are they looking for there? >> the fbi is saying it's routine here to follow the trash. it's in hartford, connecticut, where all the trash from the yale lab usually goes. it's possible the evidence could be destroyed.

breaking news this morning. three men convicted of plotting to blow up planes flying from london to north america have now been given life sentences. now, the ring leader has to serve at least 40 years. they were responsible for the restrictions that only allow you to carry small amounts of liquid on a plane. british security say it was an al qaeda scheme to sneak explosives on board in soft drink bottles and could have killed thousands. italy's coast guard came to the rescue of 42 people whose sailboat got stuck on some rocks. this is some of the video. three children and a man were pulled out of the water by helicopter. poor little child. the rest were rescued by boat. they were apparently trying to immigrate to italy from several

different countries. the so-called tea party express ended saturday with tens of thousand of people attending a rally in washington. >> can you hear me now? can you hear us now? >> the group opposes what it calls out of control government spending. particularly the proprosed health care overhaul. now, protesters carry signs reading "government is the problem" and "stop the spending." the group began a cross country bus tour in sacramento last month and held rallies in 30 cities. expect your next flight to be a little more crowded than usual. every seat's taken on the flights i'm on. where are they going to stick people? >> that's not going to really let up. maybe there used to be a couple of seats, like if you were in a really bad seat in the middle you could find a side seat somewhere. not likely. airline bosses still making cuts.

they've made some of the biggest cuts on the number of seats flying since right after 9/11. that's capacity. basically, it's recession. they can't afford to have empty seats right now. how you're really going to see it is fewer flights for you to choose from. normally it would also mean higher prices. but experts say they're not so sure about that. maybe fares will go up a little bit, but not by too much. at least not until the economy recovers. they say there's just not enough demand right now for them to really raise the ticket prices. i'll tell you what could become more expensive, though. a new set of tires. basically, the cheapest tires that are on the market are going off the market because of the big trade fight between the u.s. and china. the president slapped new tar f tariffs of up to 35%. the cheapest tires probably all but going to disappear for a little while. the big picture, too, besides just tires, there is a lot of fear that this is going to start basically a trade fight between

35,000 jobs by 2011. we don't know where those jobs will be. the majority in the u.s., whether they'll be spread out through the the world. this is the multinational company and we don't know the percentage of the workforce. it says it plans to cut costs by $1 million, so heads are rolling and the stock is rallying because it seems to be a cruel sort of twist of fate, but stocks often rally when companies take extreme measures to repair their finances. and unfortunately, in this case, many people will be suffering. we're also seeing the markets selling off a bit in the first few minutes of trading. a growing trade dispute between the u.s. and china. late friday, the u.s. administration raised tariffs on tires. what oftentimes you see then, there's retaliation and the

this just in. we have a new clarification on a story we just told you about. eli lilly, had a story about them cutting their jobs. it is reducing its global workforce to 35,000 people by the end of 2011. we don't know yet exactly how many jobs will be cut, i'm not sure what led to the misunderstanding here. we had reported they were cutting 3500 jobs, but they're cutting down to 3,500.
