hi there. i'm christi paul. i hope tuesday has been good to you. i'm always glad to have your company. we're going to talk about health care in a moment. we want to talk about several published reports, i should say, today that michael jackson's doctor, conrad murray, actually stopped performing cpr on the star so he could pick up drug viles scattered in the room. if this is true, the revelation could be very damaging for the defense. we want to go to more on the suspected leak here from alan duke. thank you so much for being with us. i also you have new information. >> some new information. new context. a lot of this is putting context on this police report. it's a death investigation report that was leaked to a reporter apparently just yesterday. and it is -- contains the statements of some of the witnesses. but these statements were made about two months after michael's death. and what the defense team is saying is that they are not the
12:02 pm
same information that the same people were giving in the days after his death. so under cross-examination, they say this won't hold up. but what the report says and they -- is that dr. murray was giving cpr to michael jackson at the home in the bedroom as we all know that happened but that he halted it, stopped it for a few moments so that he could collect vials of propofol and put them in a bag and hide them. the defense team is looking forward to cross-examining in court this witness because the statements are inconsistent with the evidence at the scene. they point out murray never tried to hide the vials because she's the one who told police where they were in the closet and they went and found them a couple days later. >> was there something in the report about one of the kids being in the room, too, or no? >> the report says that paris and prince, the two oldest of michael jackson's children, were actually in the room for a brief time while their father was
12:03 pm
sitting there. and they were trying to resuscitate him. the defense team is telling us that dr. murray says the kids were never in the room, that he never called prince up to the room, as one report said. so they are disputing even that detail which really doesn't affect his innocence or guilt. >> dr. murray is facing involuntary manslaughter charges, as i understand it. what is this information that's coming out today mean for his defense? >> well, it's going to be awhile before we actually have a preliminary hearing. we'll be in court in about nine days for a hearing that wil then just be delayed. but what the defense lawyer for murray says is he expects more leaks because the defense is insisting that the prosecution doesn't have a strong case. and as a result, they are using these leaks to build up momentum for their case and influence the public. but -- so they are saying there will be more and more leaks. but they're not going to debate them in the public, although they do a little bit. they are looking forward to cross-examining these witnesses in court. >> okay.
