well, in the u.s. senate race, fiorina continues to attack her opponent, barbara boxer and boxer is slugging back. fiorina and boxer both campaigned in southern california this weekend. it's where political insiders believe this race will be decided. boxer questioned fiorina's character. >> my opponent is proud to have the support of sarah palin. and i can tell you, you can tell about a person when you look at the company they keep. >> i'm very proud of my endorsement and i've said that over and over again. >> but fiorina did not appear with her yesterday. is it too little too late for democrats to keep control of congress? their president and first lady hope not. with election day around the corner, they are complaining together for the first time since 2008.

people that doctor said it could criminalize people for just being poor. others say it's bad for business and harass people in the neighborhood. today's welt weather made it a more dangerous day. a truck crashed into a power pole causing the poll to fall on the truck. that happened around 11:00 this morning. the driver was not seriously injured, but the crash did cause a small power outage in the area. no word yet if the power is still out. the road is back open. near the utility pole crash at about the same time, a car rolled down an embankment. this happened off northbound 101 at highway 12. the car had to be towed. the driver was not injured. all lanes of the bridge are back open. crews finished emergency repair work around 3:00 this morning. one lane on the westbound side

of the bridge had been closed since a 10-inch crack was discovered in a beam on the under side of the bridge tuesday. crews put several steel plates over the damaged part. they are going to monitor it the next several days. dozens of people have been displaced by a fire in san francisco. the fire broke out around 9:00 this morning. everyone in the four story structure got out untouched except the one person who had minor injuries from breathing in two much smoke. it started somewhere on the second story but the cause is not known at this time. the red cross has set up a shelter in a nearby apartment building for those displaced. also in san francisco, a man was shot while he sat in his parked car. it happened just after 9:30 last night. the 27-year-old victim is in the hospital tonight. his condition is not known and no one has been record yet.

and more people taking trips to asia and the middle east. a bit of san francisco entertainment history was reborn tonight. it was the city's leading supper club from 1947 to 1989 hosting entertainment legends. we were there for the grand opening tonight. the cigarette girls are gone but the old supper club atmosphere is back. >> reporter: 21 years after it closed, it reopened at the fairmont hotel. the audience young and old was thrilled. >> i've been living here for 32 years and i remember this, we use to do come here and see all the great talent and it was a shame to see it close down. and it's so exciting again tonight to see it reopen. >> reporter: it closed 21 years ago. the supper club was too expensive to run.

some 70s. out toward the coastline, you got a little cool, a little breezy. partly cloudy skies temperatures mainly in the 50s and the 60s. how about the rain? we had over 1/10 of inch in san francisco. almost 2/10 in santa rosa. everybody had some raindrops around the bay area. we're not done just yet. we've got some big changes coming up in the not too didn't future. this low pressure is going to wind down. it will drag the moisture with it. showers coming to an end overnight tonight. then things will dry out. now once that happens, we may begin to see an offshore wind. that makes it a pretty nice tuesday. for tomorrow, rain drying things out, wrap around moisture and a couple of clouds working their way back in our direction. tomorrow morning, the roadway is probably still a little slick from the rainfall.

all right. numbers looking like this. 6 outs and 70s -- toward morgan hill. san jose, 72 degrees. coastline, plan on some 50s. as you head to the interior valleys, we will see these temperatures pop a little bit. today highs only 50s. showers, i think tomorrow we will get some sunny breaks. maybe even mid-70s. as you get inside the bay, pretty good sea breeze. temperatures mainly in the 60s. in places like berkeley and oakland. well up to the north bay, you're going to see 50s toward the immediate cost line, as you get away from the coastal areas, those temperatures should warm up nicely, 60s and 70s. so looking out over the next few, this is where it gets good. tomorrow not too bad. but i afternoon we should see more sunshine. i think the winds become more offshore as we head towards

tuesday. probably some 80s returning to the bay area. cooling things off a little bit, much cooler toward friday. that's when a cold front comes in and we start talking about the prospects of rain next weekend. >> thank you. well, the half-moon bay art and pumpkin festival was this weekend. some showing off the fruits of their labor are better known for their wines instead of their pumpkins but they are becoming heavy he weights in that field as well. >> reporter: pumpkins become a big deal, and for some the bigger the better. >> i'm sorry this pumpkin is so little for you. >> reporter: now some determined growers are cultivating giants better known for it's grapes than it's gods. the napa valley. it's now being applied to something bigger, much bigger.
