hey, the fans are going to be out again, all of the sports bars around here, they are bracing themselves for one wild night. >> thanks so much. well, a new poll shows a dramatic shift in support for legalizing marijuana. less than a month a good proposition 19 was leading. now the results have flipped. why supporters are still confident. >> have you voted yet. >> reporter: they make a final push to legalize nonmedical marijuana use for adults in marijuana. 49 to 42 according to the latest field poll. >> they are toying with the idea of approving this. it sounded like a good idea. it would raise money for the state. the state certainly needs the money. with the feds coming out and saying they are going to vigorously enforce the law which would mean that the growers would be in jeopardy -- >> reporter: they say they

don't trust the poll and say wait until people see this last minute tv aid. >> the war against marijuana has failed. i know from 35 years in law enforcement. >> reporter: many working the phones have their own reasons for supporting prop 19. jody came from canada to push for it. >> my husband is known as the prince of property. he was extradited to the u.s. for selling marijuana seeds for the internet. it would be ironic and have awesome california legalize. >> reporter: as for making it more available,. >> people are already getting high on hard marijuana. it's not like we're introducing something. >> reporter: some say the pass sag of prop 19 could help undo the damage of the failure of the war on a drugs: oakland.

among other poll results, proposition 23, which would suspend the state's crackdown on greenhouse grass emission is also losing 48% to 36%. and proposition 23 is leading. the candidates for statewide office campaigned up and down california today in last-minute appeals to voters. carly fiorina spoke to seniors telling them that she would be accountable to constituents if she's elected. she expressed confidence even though recent polls showing boxer leading. boxer spent her day at a black church and then -- she holds

the latino audience and would fight for the firefighters and teachers. she said fiorina is too conservative for california. a fired up meg whitman rallied her supporters. she says her own polls show that the race is a dead heat. she and her supporters believe the energy behind republicans nationwide will result in a gop sweep in california. democrat jerry brown is wrapping up his campaign this weekend with a three-day, 12- city tour. he was in sacramento today. he emphasized his experience but says he's not looking to the past for solutions. end of the line for some bay area bus routes. >> there is no magic to this. if you don't have the finances, you can't continue to provide the same level of service.

tonight. drastic service ansit took effect getting from here to there in east bay is a little tougher tonight. drastic service cuts took effect today. the second round blamed on budget shortages. this may not be the end of it. >> reporter: we're seeing fewer and further between services being cut. >> it's very frustrating. >> a lot of bus passengers will be waiting longer for their bus. some lines in the terrace area and route 74 which serves the -- station are now gone. >> it's unfortunate but it's true. >> this is on top of a 7.8% reduction of service in march and in december ac plans to cut weekend service in half. >> people have youth programs.

church. work. you know, everything. it's going to affect a lot of people. >> reporter: she is the spokesperson for the make shift bus riders union. >> we just want to work with them to try to find some alternate things so that we won't be losing, losing all the time. >> they seem to not ever properly plan their cuts. >> reporter: but they say there is no choice. >> nobody is more frustrated and upset about it than we are. >> reporter: spokesperson clarence johnson says they have held public meetings. he has been working for months with the bus drivers union over pay and benefitsment butter he says the real problem is budget cuts. >> at one point we used to get more than $26 million from the states. we are getting practically zero at this point. there is just no magic to this. if you don't have the finances, you can't continue to provide

the same level of service. >> reporter: to find out if your route has been affected, you can go to our website and click on "links." starting tomorrow, some commuters will have to use a clipper card instead of the fast pass. the transit agency is switching over from the paper fast pass to the clipper. its used from -- it goes away in april. checking other bay area headlines, a memorial is growing tonight for a 16-year- old boy murdered last night. chapman left a party on his bike when he was shot on ritchie street. he died in the hospital. police have no suspects or a motive. police are looking for three teenage girls who may have committed as many as four

robberies. in each case, the teens attacked women. the surveillance camera caught one attack. and mild weather and late spring rains are credited with creating the -- that saved taxpayers millions of dollars. our meteorologist giving us the weather. we've got indian summer now. >> yes. we have the frost early in the week and now here comes the heat. how about the giants colors out there for tonight. looking spectacular. we've got clear skies and looking good. it's going to stay that way in most spots. maybe a couple of patches of fog developing in the north bay overnight tonight. temperatures tomorrow. a lot of 70s. 60s and 70s inside the bay.

numbers not too bad now but cooling off. 52 in fairfield. on the big picture, high pressure trying to build in here. it's going to accepted that storm well to the north of the bay area. temperatures are going to be heating up well above the average. 70s and some 80s as we head ward the middle of the week. tomorrow mid-70s in some of the warmest spots. the temperatures looking pretty good up in the low 80s as we head into late tuesday and wednesday. latter part of the week, high pressure begins to weaken somewhat. the temperatures will drop off a bit. by next weekend we're talking about the pocket of some rain. next few days, spectacular. we may not see another set of days like this until next year. >> thank you very much. well, no more couch potato
