new york hoping their solidarity will force mubarack to resign. his son and four others quit their roles in the ruling party. but the president obama has not pushed for mubarack to immediately step down. >> president mubarack's continued leadership is critical and his opportunity to write his legacy. >> reporter: secretary of state hillary clinton spoke on the crisis. she says it is important egyptian leaders demonstration an orderly transition is underway to keep the middle east stable. and the protests spread here to the bay area today. thousands of people gathered in san francisco joining the call for a new start in egyptian. we show you there are some concerns still. >> reporter: demonstrators at the u.n. plaza say they are encouraged by and want to support the antigovernment protests in cairo.

on 14th street just before noon. the victim was rushed to the hospital. witnesses say the injury looked serious but we don't know what condition the man is in. a suspect is in custody but police are not saying what the motive might be. a quiet by a area community that saw a spike in gang-related killings last year is trying to turn things around. >> ♪ [ music ] >> a community march in south san francisco today to bring the community together in a peaceful demonstration. there were six homicides in south san francisco last year, three in one night last december. police believe some and maybe all were drug related. >> sad so -- to see this. it is a good community. this is a tight-knit neighborhood down here as are all of the neighborhoods in south san francisco. i will do the best i can to get it back to the level where people are safe going into the streets.

>> the city council approved four new police officers and they will be in neighborhoods identified as gang territory. there is a $25,000 reward in connection with december's triple murder. damage from the introduce know explosion could have been reduced if the pipeline had been equipped with a shutoff valve. that is conclusion of an associated press investigation. experts say the fire could have been anguished within minutes if automatic or remote i will operated valves have been in place. it took 90 minutes to shut the gas off after the explosion. investigators have recommended the valves for decades but the government leaves it to the company to make the changes. the three u.k. berkeley graduates accused of spying in iran go a on trial tomorrow. the three were arrested on the iraq/iran border in july of 2009. one was released and returned to the united states.

the other two are in prison still. it is not known if she will return to iran for the trial. the lawyer hopes to meet with the two before the trial begins. oakland's mayor is following through on one of the campaign promises by coming face to face with the community. she hosted her first town hall meeting in west oakland. the mayor and her department heads discussed everything from public safety to the need far major grocery store. >> what we hope will come out of this meeting is that we will get concrete ideas of things we can do together, not just a list of things for the mayor to do but that things that we as a community can do together that the city together with the neighbors can make a difference. >> the mayor will host one town hall meeting each month in districts across oakland. we are kind of getting

windy in spots over the mountain tops. a wind advisorys overnight. winds 25 to 30 miles per hour and possible seeing gusts to 45. it could happen overnight with the strong offshore flow continuing. but the wind turns everything into sunshine. it will be a super sunday weather wise. 70s and 80s. a record-breaking day. a lot of 70s in the bay and 60s and 70s at the coast. it was some kind of day. 1 records going down. records in san francisco and oakland. there are records just about everywhere you went and we will be there again tomorrow afternoon. numbers cooling off in spots. 58 in san jose. but the winds can make for interesting weather. 67 in san rafael. and 67 in mountainview. around the state a lot of sunshine and comfortable weather. and no rain to speak of.

but that is brewing. i'm looking at the long-range models and it is bringing the -- in the rain for the latter part of the next weekend. we have the high pressure overhead and the air moving off shore and it starts to sink more. and you you get the warm temperatures and sunshine all the way to the coastline tomorrow afternoon. and you will see the fantastic temperatures. 78 morgan hills. 76 in union city. east bay numbers up in the 70s everywhere you go. north bay, you will find the hottest numbers out there. in the 80s. 80 in sonoma. and 81 degrees in the napa valley. looking out over the next couple days, tomorrow the last real warm one and then the high pressure weakens and the temperatures cool off a bit. more cooling as we head into tuesday and wednesday with breezy weather. but as we look at next saturday night and into sunday, it looks like rain could very well make
