hundreds of southwest flights cancelled across the country tonight after a hole blew open in a 737 jet over arizona yesterday. investigators investigated the plane. dozens of flights were grounded, don. >> reporter: after that nearly disas asterious failure, folks had understandable concerns about safety but mostly they seemed more concerned about missing and delayed flights. >> a southwest flight arrives at oakland international this evening but about 30 other flights were cancelled today leading to delays and annoyed passenger. >> they are not handling it really well and i'm about 7 or 8 hours waiting to get on a

flight that's not going to be a direct flight and hopefully i will be able to make my cruise ship tomorrow. >> reporter: southwest cancelled flights after yesterday's decompression at 37,000 feet. it left a hole in the top of the fuselage. this shows the hole. this passenger's cell phone video shows the hole in the ceiling prompting the pilot to rapidly descend. >> all of a sudden there was a loud pop. i'm holding the hand of the guy next to me. >> reporter: the hole opened right over cindy wagner's head and had her wondering. >> is this what it's like to die. so many thoughts were going through your head. it's hard to focus on any one, just wondering when it was

he is not a customer at the bank. it is official a peninsula city is shutting down its entire police department. today city officials voted to disband its 12 member police force and outsource services. all the sworn officers would keep their jobs underthe county's proposal. the plan would save the city more than half a million dollars and would balance the budget. they are also working to outsource its recreation department. checking other headlines tonight, police in oak lands are searching for two carjackers who struck at the coliseum bar station last night about midnight. no one was injured. police have no description of the carjackers. two teenagers arrested in connection with the fatal shooting at a mcdonald restaurant. reuben cortez was shot in the

back of the head on south bass couple avenue on march 16th. cortez died 4 days later. tonight two 18-year-olds are facing charges. police believe the shooting was gang related. the cost of a -- two years ago could reach nearly 7 million-dollar. another $929,000 in claimant will be voted on tuesday. has already settled claims totaling more than 1 1/2 million dollars. 47 people were injured when the driver blacked out. that driver no longer works for muny. with more work on the massive drain -- residents of a nearby mobile home are still wondering when they will be able to move back in.

they are babies after all. but ms to sounds like a bunch of babble and it is. well, they are all babies of course. but one set of twins seems to understand each other just fine. jeannie mows translates. >> if you haven't heard the talking twin babies by now you haven't been listening. their mom put the video on her blog. it ended up on youtube and now these two boys have raised baby talk to a new art. but now talk has turned to what they are saying. >> they are not really saying anything. they are just babbling. >> they are imitating each other, so one is perp et ating the babbling in the other.

parents of the youtube twins have shied away from too much publicity. actually it's more like millions if you count tv and web views. >> i think they were talking about libya. >> someone else had the same idea in this match up with dutch sub titles. these two don't just imitate each other's babbling, they do simultaneous head stands and one could only imagine what they would do if they found a cobra. as one person posted, nominee for best foreign language film. well, they are talkers.

a west virginia high school student is showing off something exceptional. laid a whopper. it could be the biggest egg found in west virginia. jacob said out of his high school teachers gave him 4 chicks last year. say they have never seen anything like it. >> typical large egg is only 2- ounces. and this is 5.5-ounces. a typical jumbo egg is 2 1/2 ounces so this is twice the size. >> reporter: officials say jacob's egg doesn't have a double yoke or double shell. as you know the local baseball teams have been laying quite a few eggs lately. looking for their first wins of the year, next.
