the fight in the long white t- shirt standing at the counter. the men were separated and he walked on out. that's when the other man followed him to his car and intentionally hit the firefighter when he reached a gas station. the suspect drove off. he's in critical condition be severe head injury. >> this is a horrible experience. no one would want to have to go through this. that is the nice thing. everyone bans to the during these times. >> reporter: police describe the suspect as a mixed race or a latin man, 18 to 24 years old with short black hair and a beard. he has possible front-end damage on his car. he's an iraqi war veteran for the past five years, he's been a state firefighter at the

down for occupy protesters in los angeles. in philadelphia today, most left peacefully. no scuffles and no arrests. but a couple dozen remained seated, saying they will not leave unless they were forced to. so where does that leave occupy movement in san francisco? don knapp on the the status of that encampment. >> reporter: as two big city enchap -- enhancements, they might emerge. this is occupy oakland without the tents. each day protesters return to meet and discuss tactics while they look on to make sure that no tents will come back.

in the meantime, they continue to occupy a tree above 14th street. but the tents continue to coverage the area next to the plaza. how long did they plan on staying? >> definitely. i mean, people don't understand that police raids have been going on since the beginning. >> occupy san francisco might be on their way to becoming the last, if not the last of the occupy encampment. steps were underway in seattle to clear temperatures from the college campus. in los angeles, campers were ordered to take nearly 500 tents and get out by monday. the camp will go. a sunday afternoon deadline came and went in philadelphia, but the the camp remains. some demonstrators left, but about 50 locked arms.

november. it looks clear for the city out here right now and moving into and around the bay here through the wee hours of the morning. clearing by midday and they continue to be dry and mild through the week with some wind developing by midweek. highs today in the fog band location. struggling to get into the 60s in the north bay. 52 over at fairfield. concordat 56 as they prevailed, mid to low 60s around the bay. and santa cruz and gilroy all in the low 70s down there today as they were fog free. upper 30s to the lower 30s for our overnight lows. again, fog will be forming as you can see streaming in from

the north. it's with us tonight and it will be around for the first thing in the morning staying well to our north here, probably through the week as the high pressure system will continue to build off the central california side where we will see several disturbances fly by across this area here. the next couple of days, you'll continue to see the clouds giveway. mostly throughout the day with just the high cloud covers on out there to contend with through the afternoon hours. the daytime highs tomorrow, again, they will continue to cool in the fog band location. look for the upper 50s to the lower 50s. south bay down around here in the upper 50s. two low 70s where we'll see the things warm up slightly into the midweek before the wind develops to knock the ball out

even the new muppet movie couldn't knock it off the thrown. e three other family -- three other family films were rounding out the top five. well, the numbers are in. americans are in the mood to shop this holiday season. one tracking service says that black friday pumped $1 billion more into cash registers this year than last. totals for friday alone, $11.4 billion for the in-store sales. online sales were evenstronger at 18% higher than on thanksgiving day. and 26% higher on black friday. and friday, well, the total is a record for the year, 8216 for the gallon. here are some other numbers to keep in mind. about half of all workers say that they will be spending some time tomorrow at work, shopping on the internet. 60% of the companies say they plan to block the internet access tomorrow and nearly a
