portrayed as a racist and that he acted in self-defense. more demonstrations were held across the country today over the killing. the latest outrage was on display at the nation's capital sizzle hundreds came to washington's freedom plaza saturday demanding investigation into the deadly shooting of the florida teenager. they chanted, skills and ice-t are not suspicious to me, a reference to the items the 17 year-old was carrying as he was shot and killed as he walked three neighborhood. the neighborhood watch captain george zimmerman says he shot martin after the teenager attacked him. zimmerman was not arrested because of the stand your ground lot. many claim he shot martin because he was black, an accusation is attorney denies >> this was not a racial issue in what happened that day.

mr. zimmerman has been involved in this community and with people in the african-american community >> nationwide the number of people outraged is growing. in chicago, cleveland, and philadelphia, demonstrators this weekend supported martin's family and what zimmermann arrested. many wore hooded sweat shirts. martin was wearing one when he was still. worshipers as well as the choir in the ministers that this new york city church are being asked to wear hooded sweatshirts to the services. florida has appointed a new federal prosecutor and next month a grand jury to decide if their man will be charged. protesters vowed to continue their calls for justice. >> a man is in jail following an officer involved shooting in san jose.

he is favored to win that state as well. mitt romney wife campaigned for him in wisconsin. meanwhile at the pennsylvania leadership conference, newt gingrich made it clear he wants to be known as the most conservative republican candidate. he says that america cannot handle another four years of president obama. mr. obama is in south korea tonight touring a military base near the north korean border. he entered the demilitarized zone to greet troops stationed 100 yds from the demarcation line. former vice president dick cheney has a new heart. the 71 year-old had the surgery this morning and aides say he has been waiting for a transplant for more than 20 months. the vice president and his family will forever be grateful.
