this is kpix5 news on kbcw. digging into the past of the deputy who shot and killed a santa rosa teenager. tonight, how one man describes an encounter with the same deputy. >> guilty. the quick decision to convict this teen of attempted murder and the brazen theft of a celebrity sports car. >> and they were supposed to go from a big city to our big city, san francisco. how these passengers found themselves stuck in a town of less than 100. good evening, i'm ken bastida. >> and i'm elizabeth cook. new insight into the sheriff deputy who shot and killed a 13- year-old boy. andrea spoke to a man who says the same deputy pulled a gun on him two months ago. andrea. >> i did speak with this man, in fact, elizabeth. the thing is, jeffrey said he wanted to speak out after he realized the connection between his traffic ticket and andy

lopez. it was august 21 around 8:30 in the morning when 57-year-old, jeffrey westbrook was car pooling to work on highway 101 when he was pulled over by sanoma sheriff deputy. jeff pulled over and on a narrow shoulder, jeff says he offered to make more room for gelhouse to stand, when a simple traffic stop for failing to use a blinker went sideways. >> the car starts to move, he screams, turn the car off and you know, as i'm looking at him, i pulled his weapon out and now he point blank. >> jeff says the gun's barrel was a foot from his head. >> i never had a gun pointed at me. >> that's when he told him to get out of the car and it happened again. >> when he asked me to, you know, if i had weapons, he went to the gun the second time. >> a car matching his was part of a be on the lookout call in a series of e mails exchanged

with the deputy sergeant. the sheriff department appears to offend him, and jeff connected the dots of the officer who pulled the gun on him. he was stunned. >> i don't know where i'm at. i know something could have been done. >> one of the final e-mails in the chain says the deputy will be unavailable to meet for the next several weeks due to unforseen circumstances. the e-mail dated october 23, was sent a day after andy was killed. >> now jeffrey says he does intend to file a formal complaint against deputy for his interaction. he looks forward to talking to the fbi and santa rosa pd about what he knows about deputy gelhouse. kpix5. >> there was another march in santa rosa earlier today for andy lopez. the teen was carrying a replica assault rifle when he was shot and killed last week.

the deputy feared for his safety after andy allegedly raised the pellet gun in his direction. the demonstrators are calling for criminal charges. the fbi and local authorities are investigating. new at 10:00, san francisco's police chief is admitting he is not immuned to crime at a town hall meeting tonight, the chief revealed someone broke into his car outside his home. a few weeks ago in the golden gate heights neighborhood. he says the suspect or suspects stole his jacket. the case remains unsolved. >> meanwhile, a marine county teenager was found guilty following a series of brazen crime, including attempted murder and swiping a celebrity chef's lamborghini. it took the jury one day to convict 19-year-old, max wade. kpix5's brian webb tells us how an attempt to impress a girl proved to be very costly. >> this case had attempted murder, grand theft auto, and a jealous teenager doing it all for love.

classified federal avid. we'll have much more on 11:00 on kpix5. >> nearly four years after a heyward father was shot and killed after getting ice cream with his 13-year-old daughter. a suspect is now in custody. police have arrested 24-year- old, derek turner of vallejo last night in the 2009 murder of thomas cunningham. investigators believe that turner got upset when one of cunningham's dogs started smelling his leg. turner apparently asked cunningham to hold the dogs back. that's when police say turner opened fire. >> police say a guy in a stolen car cause add horrific crash in san francisco's inner richmond. he ran a red light at 10th and geary and plowed into a lexus suv. the impact flipped that lexus over and sent it crashing into two more cars. all four drivers went to the hospital as well as a passer by. >> searchers looking for a

missing bay area gold miner found a body. there's no confirmation it is walter, but the body was found 1500 feet from his truck. he left his home a week ago to mine for gold near the south yuba river. again, the body has been found today has not been positively identified, but we are told severe's family is at the scene. authorities are searching for one of the dents of a troubled care facility in castro valley. 65-year-old, edmond was last seen friday afternoon at the san leandro bart station. he has a history of wandering off. this comes as we learn the alameda county fire department was called out to that visit. valley springs manner four times late last week. fighters had no idea it was supposed to be closed. >> but because the way it appeared, the fire crew that was there, as they went in between thursday and saturday, never recognized that there were too few people or what the

in cold bay, alaska. after reports of a possible engine issue. 167 passengers and 11 crew members were on board and got to spend the day with a town with less than 100 people. they have finally made it back safely hours later. joe. >> finally, liz. finally, 4:00 yesterday afternoon, they left tokyo. they were supposed to get here at 9:30 this morning. they did not arrive. they didn't get out of customs until a few minutes ago. they spent some time in cold bay, alaska, a tiny town. population, 60. everything was fine with the plane. it had some kind of engine problem. we aren't sure what it was in terms of the plane. they got on another plane, came back here. everybody is fine, including a family from lodi. they just arrived. take a look.
