im tim seaman. jenna rehnstrom has the night off. we're often told, looks can be decieving. few people know that better than an omaha teenager, who lost half his right hand in a freak accident. but thanks to the work of siouxland physicians ... ben wiwiowski's hand someday could be as good as new. abc9 reporter bria bell has more on a patient - physician reunion in norfolk today. bria: nineteen year old benjamin witkowski was jet skiing with friends in july when that accident litterly ripped part of his right hand away. thankfully, good judgement calls by first responders and a successful surgery by dr. tristan hartzell at faith regional hospital, allowed benjamin's hand to be fully reattched. "this is one of those times where the stars aligned really well," said dr. hartzell. three hours after whitkowski lost his hand, doctors s faith regional phphician center in nonolk were workininto save it. drdrhartzell says ick work by emergency responders helped make that happen. "it's why i love nebraska, it's just people move there's no...people are efficient. they know

that somebody is in need and there's no hesitation. it's just everybody activates and that's as quick as it gets from scene to surgery," said dr. hartzell. n's mother says she immediatley knew how serious the situation was... a employee at faith regional.... she never had doubts about where her son needed to be treated. "i knew dr. hartzell was wonderful and i knew that we had him right here and they were going to fly him to omaha. a lot of times faith regional gets alot of patients from omaha for dr. hartzell, so i asked them 'can you please fly him here? straight here,'" said hoffman. the surgery lasted 12 hours...ben still needs up to five more surgeries beginnning of 2016. says the recoveryryrocess is slowowbut is accepting it. small steps meananlot. any team will tell you, the manager is just as much a member of the team as anyone else. so during what was supposed to be lawton bronson's last game of thehe year, the coaches from lawton bronson... and westwood came together to create a special moment, for a very special team manager. when lawton bronson's football teams hit the field... they come ready to play. thursday nht, they're tang on odbury central in a rivalry game... but tuesday's game against westwood is one the team will never forget, and all because they put kameron obberreuter, the team manager in the game. "to see him so excited and out there being the star on the field for once instead of being out on the sidelines, it's a thing that you can't even begin to put words on how much it means to us and to him," said robin oberreuter, kameron's mom. kameron has special needs, b b he's always been a big part of the team, cheering them on from the sidelines. but this time, with a minute and a half left... it was kameron's turn to take the field. "the quarterback gave me the ball," kameron said. he kicked... and ran, nearly sixty yards for his very first

touchdown. "we didn't care what the score was at that point. what the kids learned, both teams, coaches, parents, it put things back in to perspective. and sometimes us adults need that," said jesse pedersen, lawton bronson football coach. then the team, running behind kameron during the play, came in. "they gave me a group hug," kameron said. "it's something you can't even describe your feelings when it happens," pepersen said. the play lasted just a few sesends... but the e mory of kameron's first touchdown will stay with everyone there, forever. "it's a memory that he'll have and be able to cherish. and we can look back and talk about this for years," oberreuter said. rachael lawton bronson's coaches told rachel they never this happen without help from westwood's coaches. both the team and kameroros family told us they are ateful they got the chance to give the field he will never forget.

crunch time for high school football teams here in siouxland, with just two games remaining and our of the week is almost a must wiwi for both sides. sioux center and george little be in the playoffs today. but the warriors and lions are two teams within a half a game of each other battling for just three spots. rough patches early in the season. the lions lost four straight before bouncing back with a pair of wins and sioux center has won three of four heading into tomorrow's pivotal game. tim van regenmorter--"i think we took some great strides here the last few weeks. you know, with our record at t ur wins, three losses, we've coco up short on a w games where we feel like we've leftft some things therer" marcus winterfeld--"these last four games have been really good for us. even our one loss was to spirit lake in a game we should have won. so i think we're pretty confident and rolling pretty good right now especially off a big win last week." toby lorenzen--"we've kind of gotten our confidence back. you know we took our lumps early wn; played some awful good teams the arly part of our schedule and we do that for a reason. we do that for the late part of our season. we've been playing with a lot more confidence the last two weeks."
