a paraplegic iowa man is working to make his favorite gun range more accessible to disabled shooters. iowa.. natpop -- lenters shooting at target . he just wishes he could go alone. i always have someone go with me in case i get stuck," said lenters. natpop - did you get stuck? wife pulling lenter's wheelchair. the issues begin once he leaves his vehicle. "right now it's just paved with these round rocks and my chair does not have much ground clearance. these peebles.... natpop -- al driving wheelchair over pebbles. make it hard to get around. and getting comfortable at a nearly impossible. "changing the bench set up here, to something that i can get under with my chair. it's kind of hard to reach," said al lenters. he's hoping to change all of that by teaming up with the tri-state range association. the non- profit..which already works to clean up the range...plans to make the facility accessible. a double wide parking spot, we are going to make a new entrance off of said parking spot and we

are going to pave some access sidewalks and a concrete shooting pad the renovations are being done through volunteer work and donations. and its expected to be completed by spring of next year. a go-fund me account was set up to help. lenters, who became a paraplegic after a motorcycle accident in 2002. says he's looking forward to the changes. "now if we do some improvements to it, it will be that much better," said lenters. deborah souverain abc 9 news. allison: a go fund me account was created to complete the renovations. their goal is 5- thousand dollars. for a link to the go fund me page....visit this story on our website...siouxlan d matters dot com allison: one siouxland family is now publically reacting to the news that the woman who killed their daughter, will not serve her full sentence. autumn elgersma, a 3 years old in orange city, died 2 years ago when her daycare provider threw her down the stairs. rochelle sapp pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment resulting in autumn's death

and was sentenced to 100 years in prison. but autumn's family was shocked and outraged when a judge cut that sentence on thursday. "i was completely blown away. i did not even know that was an option for the judge to reconsider it when rochelle had signed a plea agreement. i believe that he completely forgot who the true victim in this case is." autumn's family tells abc9 that what bothers them the most, is they don't feel as though sapp has shown any remorse, even in her court appearances. "there's just a complete lack of taking any responsibility for her actions and she is showing no remorse. her behavior was stone cold and i really wish people would have been able to see that and it would maybe help them to understand why we are so angry." the elgersma family is honoring autumn by helping start a center in her memory for children who have been abused. we have more information on our website, siouxland matters dot com. allison: what started out

as a mild shed fire, soon turned into a blaze claiming 50 acres of corn just 5 miles south of le mars iowa, a small shed ignited just before one oclock this afternoon and it wasn't long before cinders from the shed blew into a nearby field, causing a raging inferno that stretched across 50 acres of standing corn. by the time fire crews from the le mars fire and rescue department got to the scene, fire chief dave schipper says the second fire broke out. of silage along with at least 50 acres of standing corn were lost. the fire has been ruled accidental, allison: a harvested field outside of elk point also caught fire today. just after five oclock. crews from both elk point and jefferson fire rescue answered the call and had the fire under control in about an hour. firefighters are investigating the cause of the blaze. allison: early this morning, sioux city fire and rescue responded to a fire at cargill incorporated. firefighters discovered a small fire that was determined to have been started due to an electrical switchgear malfunction. cargill employees were required to de-energize the equipment before fire crews were able to put out the fire. no injuries were reported. allison: and it seems fire crews had a busy morning as they also had to re- extinguish a fire at a house in sioux city that is now being ruled an arson. sioux city fire rescue has determined that a structure fire to a residence on silver street was set intentionally, the first floor of the two story home suffered heavy damages. early this morning,

firefighters were called back to the residence to extinguish an area that had re- ignited on the second floor of the house. no injuries were reported. allison: flying a drone could get a little harder. starting tomorrow, as the goverment is set to announce new regulations. abc's aditi roy with the reason behind the move. " tonight..the faa is set to unveil new rules for the drone ownes the country...requiring those operating the gadgets to register their devices the registry -- just the latest move to regulate an exploding market in unmanned aircraft . some of those drones posing real danger in the air and on the ground. sot: steve. ganyard - "it's just going to be inevitable. somebody is going to fly their drone into a passenger airplane and we are going to lose an airplane sometime.". atc audio - "it just popped up right underneath our nose" from close calls with commercial jets, to whizzing drones forcing no- fly zones for firefighters out west. the rest of us on the ground - on guard, too. just last month drones crashed in new york and california. an estimated 500,000 drones already in the air and now those skies are about to get a whole lot buzzier.
