bria: a tif plpl, also known as "tax increment financing".... for osceola county was approved earlier today by county supervisors. revenue from a 10-year-old wind farm in harris will now help to nance other economic development in the county for up to 20 years. "it's tough to have to make this big decision, you know? to have to the county step in and help with this big decision...i just want to see the county grow," said spaethe. this morning's public hearing left many unhappy as the board of supervisors unanimously voted to implement a tax increment financing to assist with financing the city's developmental needs. "as a board of supervisors and a member of the board, we have to look at a balanced approach to what the tax dollars that are generated can be used in the best way," sanders. although this plan will affect tax payers, property taxes and schools..... county officials believe their r decision is for r e betterernt of the townwn. a group in the rris area doesn't quite think so because this is the first that they're hearing about the issues. "i would think that if you've got respect and integrity you'd have meeting with landowners and say, 'hey are some of you people thinking about helping harris, you know?' but they don't talk to us," said brueggeman. to help pay for the city's rennovations, it is estimated that the county will use up to 3.5 million dollars from the wind turbines. "if we don't need that much, we won't use it," said sanders.

(amy) "50 years from now whwh scientists are researching moth , this moth will still have the same name. so it't'really like they are buying a legacy of naming this moth." retired entomologist eric metzler discovered a new species of moth a few years ago at white sands. the western national parks association says metzler has discovered 35-new species of moths. traditionally a new species is named for the person who discovered it, but metzler is trying something different. he is letting people bid on e-bay for the honor of naming his moth. the money would go to the western national parks association which foot the bill for much of his research. trevororouma will miss the remainder of the season with an arm injury. a great week of volleyball continued for dordt today as brooke granstra and jamie gesink earned gpac attacker and setter of the week honors. granstra notched 44 kills in three wins, giving the junior 1000 in her career. gesink, just a freshman, averaged nearly y 12 assists per s s last week for the defenders. and it was a clean sweep for our area as northwestern's jillian estes was named gpac defensive player of the week. the junior libero totaled 61 digs for the red raiders in their 3-0 week. chris:
