night. johnson was shot in the hand... and police say an un- named woman was shot in the chest. both brody and johnson are now being charged with a number of crimes. tim: in benton county iowa, authorities are investigating what they are calling a "suspicious death" police there arrested 31- year-old david miller of shellsburg while he was walking on a road in rural linn county yesterday, after authorities found the body of a woman at his home in benton county while investigating two vehicle thefts linked to miller. authorities also believe miller stole a truck from a neighbor morning couple of miles away. miller then allegedly stole another truck and crashed that one too. "i yelled at him to get what do you think you're doing and i yelled at my wife my phone...he was truck started and nailed it in reverse. tim:

" tim: good news continues to come in for ben carson in iowa. the latest monmouth university poll of likely republican iowa voters gives carson a 14 percentage point lead over donald trump in the republican presidential race. that's the third iowa poll in a row showing carson ahead. senators ted cruz and marco rubio are tied for third at 10 percent. tim: speaking of republicans, the third republican presidential debate will be held this wednesday in boulder colorado at the coors events center located at the university of colorado. the debate will begin at 7 pm and is set to run for two hours jenna: bernie sanders is clarifying comments he made regarding hillary clinton's "shouting" on gun control . sanders says it has nothing to do with her gender while in iowa on saturday, clinton said that sanders' remarks came with a gender-

"that's by implementing new scholarships, new university grants, we have many generous donors that are willing to help give money to fill that gap, " said shelby reed, briar cliff director of financial aid jenna: the federal perkins loan program ended on september 30th of this year. private colleges and universities that rely on this funding will have to look at other ways to help students receive necessary funds. tim: the future farmers of america are touting some big numbers this year. record numbers are being seen in iowa nearly 15 thousand kids from 225 high schools participate in the farming program. that's 500 more than last year.

the american academy of pediatrics wants to raise the age to legally buy cigarettes -- nationwide -- to 21. that includes all tobacco products - and e- cigarettes. hawaii and about 90 other cities and communities enforce the 21 age limit. recommendation was among more than two-dozen released today by the nation's leading pediatrics group. it's aimed at reducing the number of children addicted to nicotine. tim: we're always told to eat our fruits and veggies but how important is it to get your daily serving? dr. timothy johnson. takes a look in today's medical minute
