marks the first fire death in sioux city...in two years. sioux city fire rescue is set to hold a press conference regarding the fire early this afternoon. stay tuned to abc9 news at 5 for continuing coverage of this tragedy. jessica rae: early yesterday morning, a woman had to be rushed to the hospital after a tiger bit her hand at the henry doorly zoo in omaha nebraska. according to police, 33 year old jacqueline eide snuck into an unauthorized area around 7:20 in the morning on sunday, somehow getting past the fence and security before the zoo had opened. that's when officials say she stuck her left hand in a tiger cage. trying to pet the tiger. the tiger bit down on her hand causing severe wounds. eide was transported to creighton university medical center by a friend. the wounds are so bad she might lose parts of her fingers. according to police the woman was cited for criminal trespass and records show she has a long history of d-u-i arrests.

jessica rae: south dakota is celebrating it's 126th anniversary of statehood. the rushmore state was admitted as the 40th state on november 2nd 18-89 by president benjamin harrison. north dakota is also celebrating their 126th as well. they were admitted to the union on the same day. jessica rae: with christmas just on the horizon, one nebraska retail store is increasing jobs in the norfolk area, here's paul hughes with the details. "the announced closure of a norfolk retailer will cost the area shortly after multimedia retailer entertainment announced this week norfolk location. going-out-of- business sale through dec. 26. nebraska 1st district congressman jeff fortenberry defended the two- year budget deal as a way to bring stability to financing the federal government. fortenberry, a member of the house budget committee, is the only republican in the nebraska congressional delegation to vote for the deal. he was joined by democrat brad ashford. the nebraska department of education has named norfolk's westside elementary school a 2016 national title 1 school. the national annually to two state and recognizes exceptional student achievement. over

jessica rae: in honor of veteran's day, the long lines family rec center will allow servicemen and women to climb the rock wall for free. november 11th all current and former military are able to climb for no charge. there will be two sessions for climbing that day. the first is from 4pm to 6 pm and the second is from 6 to 8 pm jessica rae: a study was conducted by mercy medical center here in sioux city, to determine community health needs... the results of that study concluded the city of sioux city and the surrounding areas struggle the most with obesity, especially childhood obesity. in an effort to change that, a new program was started... here's more on the "kid shape program" rae: mercy medical center and the sioux city community school district have partnered together to create the kid shape program, which is a three course program aimed at curbing chilhood obesity here, in the siouxland area. corey loffswold, not only teaches p-e at liberty elementary in sioux city, he is also the kid shape program coordinator... corey loffswold, "families come, one night a week for two hours, for eight weeks, and it is a

cyclical program that ties back to each week as we go through and its a way for them to make better choices for themselves and their families." rae: loffswold says, because the program is geared towards childhood obesity, there are some qualifications needed to join... kids must be between the ages of 6 and 12, and they have to be percentile of their range. the two hour program is designed not only centered around exercise. loffswold, "the about a 10-15 minute family fitness activity that we try to tie back to something they can do at home as a group, when we are done with that, they come back for about a 30-

40 minute lesson with a nutritionist." rae: loffswold stresses, this program is not a diet... instead it's about life changing choices being made as a family. loffswold.
