during theribe's elections tuesday a majority of tribal citizens voted in a referendum voicing their favor of legalizing marijuana for medical, recreational, and industrial use, the newly elected council-men will now begin weighing out the reservation's options to ensure the tribe is in compliance with federal regulations. " we took that guidance and correspondance like other tribes have. if we do puruse any other opportunites with marijuana, how do we best nt to do that? and with our tribe we realized it was best to ask our people, what do they want to do first?" said vernon miller, tribal chairman. jessica rae: the tribal council felt it was neccesary to open up the desicion to the people. it's just the first step in the process, next the tribal council will consult state and federal authorities.
