winter weather arrives... a local non profit agency that provides a warm bed for siouxlands homeless picked up a big contribution. "100-plus men who care", presented the "warming shelter" on nebraska street with a check for 62-hundred dollars. the presentation is the first foror "100-plus men who re." the new group meets once aquarter to nominate non- profit groups to be their beneficiary. the warming shelter plans to use the funds toward the purchase of bunk beds that will replace cots currently being used. 100-plus men who care will make it's next check presentation in january. lukas: turning now to deadly terror it has now been one week since and abc's marci gonzalez is there with the lastest and d w developmentstsn the investigation. the war on terror has been on the top of esident obama's agenda on visits around the world obama has traveled to turkey, the philippines, and malaysia in recent days, discussing the paris attacks and other terror threats with world leaders. speaking in malaysia today... the president praised the nation for its commitment to fighting terror threats. from senator cruz at 5. lukas the board of directors of the nebraska association of school boards has been elected to another board of directors. paul hughes has more. "a member of the norfolk public schools board of education has been elected to the board of directors of the nebraska association of school boards. gubbels was elected to the norfolk board in 2014, and will continue to serve as an active member in addition to her new dututs as a state representative. norfolk turns 150 years old next year and the city will be celebrating over a six-day period. sheryl schmeckpeper with the norfolk 150 organization says the main celebration will run wednesday, june 29th through the 4th of july. she says anyone who donates $150 for the celebration will be listed on the committee's web site, in a norfolk daily news commemorative insert, and on a permanent marker that will be placed somewhere in the johnson park area. the divots devent center is hosting norfolk's premier holiday celebration and shopping extravaganza this weekend. sales and marketing manager cheryl waddington says the yuletide market will be packed with great gifts for everyone on your r liday shopping list. it's saturday f fm 10 to 4 and sunday from noon to 4 at t t divots devent t center west of norfolk on highway 275. those and more stories can be heard on news talk wjag, lite rock 97.5 and 106

lukas: construction has been completed on a brand new industrial shell on a brand new industrial shell spec (ulative) bulding that's been built at the bridgeport west industrial park. city planners and officials surveyed the 50 thousand square foot space located right next to the new site of the seaboart triumph foods pork processing plant, mayor bob scott says the building will help fill the much needed space for local busniesses looking to expand or relocate. "there's always somebody calling saying do you have a 40 to 50 thousand square foot building that's readily available and we have not had that for along time here. and now we'll be able to meet those needs and those ads alot quicker."says sioux city mamar bob scott. lukas: scott says outlook for the occupation of this new building is good. the city has partnered with

unity point saint lukes, it was the 3rd annual movember event focusing on men's health. they challenge men to "man up" and get screened for prostate cancer with a simple p-s-a blood test that was made available for only 33 dollars. we are now looking to get your turkey at its most flavor- packed and juiciest turkey... howard has just the trick for you! he's in the mister food test kitchen with a recipe that will only take you minutes! "thanksgiving's just around the corner, which means you'll probably be picking up your turkey in the next couple of days. if it's frozen . here's some tips on thawing it. when it comes to thawing, there are basically two ways: either, place it on a rimmed baking sheet and put it in the fridge. (that will take about 1 day for every 4 lbs.) or you can keep it in its original packaging, put it breast side down in the sink and cover it with cold water. you'll need to change the water every 30 minutes or so. this way the same 12 lb. bird will thaw in about 6 hours. it's about 30 minutes a pound, rather than 3 days in the fridge. when it's time to cook it, after placing it in a roasting pan,

the skin from the breast meat and stuff it with seasoned butter. then stuff the cavity with some onions and celery, and make sure you secure the legs and slather the skin with even more of our seasoned butter before roasting it off. when it's golden and the internal temperature in the breast is 180 degrees, it's done. between all the buttery richness under and over the skin, and all the basting, this promises to one of the juiciest, and most flavorful birds ever. i do hope you'll go online and get the recipe for our, "herb butter roasted turkey," along with our thawing instructions so you can have a turkey that is truly the star of this year's feast. i'm howard in the mr. food test kitchen, where today we found a "juicer way" for you to say .
