fly zone in syria and a safe zone in syria for refugees to be able to stay inside their own country. this is not an issue we should even have to be addressing inside the u uted states."earlier this week, the house overwhelmingly approved a bill to halt syrian and iraqi refugees from entering the u.s. -- until key secucuagencies certify those refugees don't pose a security risk. the senate now has the bill. if it passes,the white house has said it will veto such legislation. i'm kim hutcherson reporting. lukas this week will be busy for the native american community, with two big upcoming events. the first event begins monday with a town hall meeting to discuss a proposed ban on single can alcoholic beverages. this is the arrest records for public intoxication through september of this year. the plan is to address alcohol abuse, which among arrests come in about half involving native americans. another importan community event this week is the march to honor lost children. on wednesday the native american community will march to raise awareness of the problems they

" natsot: "give me a five. yeeeee!" this is how kirill and chris facey say hello. natsot: "a stump- bump is.. every time they see each other, they now do that." the faceys have been kirill's family for only a few months.but already he seems like at home... especially when he's with his new grandfather, chris. ( voice of chris facey, kirill's adopted grandfather): "the ironic thing about kirill having the same hand as me is i can't buy gloves with him and when we walk down the road holding hands, one of us has to walk backwards." three years ago, chris' son doug and wife lesley decided to adopt a child from another country and applied wi an orphanage in kazakhstan. then last march, they received this photo of a boy born missing his right hand. they knew right away that he would

become their son. ( doug facey, kirill's adopted father): "they kept emphasizing throughout the whole process, that 'do you really want a child with only one hand?'" (nats) at the orphanage, kirill has been passed up for adoption six times. but the faceys didn't hesitate because chris has been born the same way and accomplished so much. ( lesley facey, kirill's adopted mother): "how can i sit there and say 'this is gonna be a problem' when you're looking at this man who's been to the paralympics, who played soccer, he's a great philanthropist in the city, he's a very successful businessman. how can you sit there and say 'my child won't be able to do any of that.'" when they first met at st. john's airport, kirill had never seen another person who was missing a hand. (chris facey, kirill's adopted grandfather/off camera): "i just stuck out my hand and reached out with his stump and he touched mine. winning season. it's time for change at iowa state. paul rhoads. fired as heaeacoach of the cyclones. the decision was made official earlier today by iowa state athletic director jamie pollard. rhoads has been the head man in ames since 2009, posting a 32-54 record. isu is 3-8 this season, with the firing coming on the heels of yesterday's metldown against kansas state. rhoads will speek at his weekly press conference tomorrow, before coaching iowa state's season finale agagnst west rginia on saturday. some more coaching news....south
