despite what you heard in the courtroom. >> reporter: the shohooting took place on october 20th, 2014. 9:47 p.m., police responding to a call of a suspect wh a knife breakiking into cars and walking down the strt tracked mcdonald down. ten minutes laterfficer van dyke, authorities say, opens fire after mcdonal collapses,p prosecutors say van dyke kept firing 16 bullets in 15 seconds. another officecer can then be seen kicking that knife away from mcmcdonald'sy but the teenager investigator said he never threatened the officers. overnight demonrators are taking to the streets of chihigo confronting police outside this statn. >> all: 16 shots. 16 shots. >> reporter: and now with community tension building the city's top brass on edge. >> jason van dyke will be judged in a court of law, that's exactly how it should be. >> reporter: and van dyke is
