"part of what we wanted to do wasas actually restore it t back to what i'm going to call its glory days in the 20's and get it to look like that and to be able tuse it to do our processing," said schuett. mark's company is american natural processors incorporated, a business that produces grain, protein concentrates, oil and more. he says that the motivation to purchase the building was not only because of family, but the chance to preserve history. "well it's a family project and so my wife julie and i decided we could work. we know itit going to be more of f an investment than if would've started from scratch, but the idea that we can safe some of the history of the building...we plan on having a small room where we will display the history of the building," said schuett. majority of the building was not in use since 2002 leaving many people to suspect that it would soon be demolished if there was not a use for it. but with the current project in place, tom munson, an archival clerk for sioux city says that this upcoming plan is a bonus for the residents of sioux city. i want to remind you not to forget the gravy. this year, we came up with a new one that'll really stand out. we start off by cooking up about a half a pound of bacon just like normal, and we'll set the drippings aside. after we cooked our turkey, we poured the pan drippings into a measuring cup so the fat could rise to the top. once it does, we skim it off and place it in a saucepan along with the bacon drippings. after that heats up, we stir in some flour and cook i for a minute or so. this is what's going to thicken our gravy and give it lots of flavor. now we add the rest of the pan drippings along with some chicken broth or turkey broth (so it equals about 4 cups all together), and we'll let that simmer. once this starts to thicken up, the crumbled bacon goes in and it's done. and if you're thinking, this isn't the lightest recipe ever, well you're right. but since thanksgiving only comes once a year.why not go all out? and when your guests spoon this over everything from their turkey and mashed potatoes to their stuffing, get ready to refill the gravy boat.it's
