"that's why this whole page came about. i want to be able to help all the children in siouxland who need the help," said hansen. several people within the siouxland community have come together to create sioux city christmas help 2015, a group on facebook who's dedicated to helping families ,who otherwise might not be able to provide christmas presents for their children. missy hansen initially began the project and she knows exactly what it's like to walk in the shoes of those that are in need. "a few years ago we moved back here and we were homeless. awoman by the name of joan fleck...i had contacted and needed help. she picked it up, she sponsored my children and since then, she has changed it for me and for other families and i can't in honor, i'm for her...because we pay it forward and in this community, we all need to pay it forward," said hansen. the page garnered so much attention that there have been more kids than donors and

s begin fighting deborah those pint size fighters are competing in the iowa state judo championships. the competition took place today at the long lines family recreational center in sioux city. it featured events...for junior judo fighters...ages 5 to 16......as well as seniors and masters...for adult fighters. the competition included "ne waza"...which tests ground fighting skills. competitors were also judged on their shi-ai....or standard fighthing technique. this year's competition featured three local fighters..each of whom are nationally ranked in their divisions. still to come santa's getting hip this holiday season. see what we mean.
