gets labeled depending on it's origin ... common practice in the u.s. for quite some time ... now however the world trade organization is enforcing tariffs on u.s products in reponse to the law ... something local pork producers think is a big problem. sot: "anytime they are going to impose tariffs on our product it's going to hurt us in the long run. it's going to hurt everybody in this local area." it cost the u.s. livestock industry billions of dollars to implement labeling laws. trade agreements with two of it's largest export partner ... mexico and canada were violated and the laws had no effect on price or demand. canda and mexico can impose more than 1 billion dollars of retaliatory tariffs and this is the fourth time the wto said that c-o-o-l violates trade obligations. sot: "every meeting wie discuss this. basically nothing got done. which is pretty frustrating because we knew we were going to

didn't get it repealed." nats: hogs: and farmers are not just concerned about the price of the pork itself ... bills need to be paid ... transportation is expensive and animals have to be kept safe in proper enviroments. sot: "this facility cost around half a million dollars to built ... pork prices are as low as they have been in 6 years and while the nsumer might have an advantage ... producers are worried." sot: it's like taking a guy when he is down and kicking him. price is already lower and the tariffs are just gonna push the prices lower. "there really is no winner ... maybe the consumer will get some cheaper product ... but as far as the agricultural producer there is really no win. industry groups were succesful in the house lobbying for the repeal. the senate however stays put and has not acted. it's a waiting game ... a game that could cost iowa pork producers dearly. jenna: donald trump is looking to expand his lead with iowa voters . the controversial g- o-p front-runner gathered with voters at the iowa state fairgrounds tonight "nats of music" folks started

before trump arrived. when he took the stage around seven he immediately talked about his love for iowa, saying he's confident that the hawkeye state could set the stage for a mass victory in the upcoming caucuses. trump said quote...."i'm going to be here a lot. you're going to be sick of me." trump also made his first serious attack on fellow candidate sen. ted cruz, saying cruz is not committed to future ethanol subsidies. "he's right now for the oil and i understand it, oil pays him a lot of money, he's gotta be for oil, right?" trump didn't miss the chance to take a shot at democratic frontrunner hillary clinton..... saying that she broke the law and is afraid of making the president upset. tim: some folks used tonight's rally... to rally their opposition to trump's ideas. one man says he's afraid the candidate's stance on the ecomomy would be bad for the middle class and low income americans. same tired old policies and he has the sort of economic policy that's leaving americans with income inequality." iowa is now 50 days away from it's first in the nation caususes . tim: dr. ben carson was back in iowa today, as well. carson spoke to supporters at a morning breakfast event in burlington. the latest national poll shows carson is trailing gop frontrunner donald trump by 22 points with only 13% of the republican support. carson also made an appearance in moravia, iowa. tim: all of the republican candidates will likely spend much of the weekend prepping for tuesday's g-o-p debate in las vegas. jenna: but in the meantime... but that isn't keeping the bunch out of the headlines dianne gallagher has more. a next door neighbor was changing his sheets when he found a bullet hole in his mattress. he then found a 22 caliber bullet casing along with a hole in the wall when police issued a search warrent for the apartment next door, they found more than one hundred guns, including more than a dozen illegal weapons. police arrested 29 year old darren zafft and 35 year old jennifer cash. both face multipule charges of possession of a destructive device and possession of a controlled weapon. all explosives have been removed and a-t-f is assisting in the investigation. tim: sioux city police have arrested one of the two suspects wanted for a home invasion on monday. 21-year old austin cummings is charged with robbery in connection with a robbery and assault at a home on south alice street. cummings and another accomplice kicked down the door to the home, threated the homeowner with a gun, and physically assaulted a teenager who lived there. police are still on

who's described as a white man, between 6-3/6-4 in height and around 160 pounds. jenna: a church in pilger, nebraska is facing more devistation as it tries to rebuild after tornadoes destroyed it in 2014. yesterday, the structure up for the new saint john lutheran church blew down during some strong winds. the congregation was hoping to be in their new building by next summer. pastor terry makelin says their faith is what keeps them going. he says this setback is nothing compared to what's at stake. "satan's working really hard...yeah this is dissapointing, but i know my redeemer lives. because that's the bottom line. what goes on in this life is really minor compared to the glory of what we're going to receive in the ressurection of jesus christ," said makelin. pastor terry says they did have insurance on the project and this should only set construction back a couple months. tim: it looks like big changes may be ahead for a local

helps kids and families. boys and girls home and family services president and ceo art silva, tells abc9 that the company has purchased land and property currently known as "indian hills shopping plaza." silva said he was not able to go into detail about the aquisition but said the organization is planning a major announcement for spring. the agency that cares for children and adults is currently located on court street in sioux city. indian hills shopping plaza started in 1975 as a grovery store and two years later expanded into a large retail center. the property has been home to several different businesses in recent years. a hardware store, dance studio, and the veterans affairs office are now located on the property. jenna: families with kids in the hospital are getting some support this holiday season. today, the ronald mcdonald house of siouxland collected donations that siouxlanders have been bringing to mc-donald's restaurants. they've been asking for items to stock their cupboard - things like snacks, bottled water, and dish soap. all of it will be used by families who stay at the

"music " tim: one of the most wonderful days of the year attracted a crowd of a few hundred to the university of iowa pentacrest friday. the annual holiday tuba concert lasted for a half-hour and featured songs like "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas," "grandma got run-over by a reindeer," and the iowa hawkeye fight song. the annual event is put on by the ui tuba and euphonium ensemble on the steps of the old capitol building. it features more than a dozen tuba players and a conductor dressed as santa. temperatures around 50 degrees helped attract the huge crowd. " we're really lucky the tuba's are playing and their fingers aren't freezing, so this is a good serenio all the way around," said the wife of univ of iowa president bruce harreld. the event also serves as a toy- drive for strong partners empowering change and solidarity.

pollock original that was in town over the summer, now you can see a documentary about that painting. next thursday, the sioux city art center will be previewing a documentary about how that piece has traveled around the world. it's called jackson pollock mural: the story of a modern masterpiece: the screening starts at 6pm with a social hour before. jenna: a choir made up partly of prison inmates is giving back this holiday season to folks in eastern iowa. the group of 60 includes both inmates and volunteers and they practice once a week. they started in 2009 and have been performing ever since. the goal is for participants to learn from each other and to empower inmates to gain skills for successfully re- entering society. < "this gives me a connection with people that i wouldn't otherwise have in here." the woman who started the group is an associate professor at the university of iowa who was researching music in prison.
