sot: "we have met with the entirety of the staff first thing monday morning as i mentioned we received the information on friday took action on friday and received the resignation on friday." there are already a number of checks and balances in place to make sure teachers are cleared to be in our schools. their names get run through the fbi's database in multiple states. the iowa department of criminal investigation checks them as well. then ther are also run through several criminal data bases such as the sex offender registry. while alarmed ... the local teachers union warns about generalizing. sot: "they have integrity.they keep them safe, to somehow say everyone or even a high percentage are folks that shouldn't be teaching is wrong." the union and teachers agree it's something that needs to be adressed especially in early teacher's education. and educators have already taken steps to make sure future teachers don't run into trouble. sot: "we do discourage them from participating in social media and texting with their students. it's too fine of a line to cross and it's best to not do it all. "we as an association have talked to people repeadetly and about ethics and that nees to be drivin home." searsly's case now lies in the hands of the iowa board of educational examiners. a state entity responsible for licensing the state's teachers ... their first standart within their code of professional conduct and ethics. . "cadaver dogs and they did indicate positively near the edge of the pond. trainers were confident there were remains in the nd. " 16 departments, cadaver dogs, divers and search planes were part of the search. police found kemps cell phone wednesday afternoon, just feet from the watir. when kemp's body was found, family was seen holing each other.
