again.. just head to our website... that's siouxlandmatter.c om and click on this story. deborah: hockey players from all around siouxland took to the ice today to honor a former sioux city musketeer. the sixth annual "lobster style" hockey tournament was held at the i-b-p ice center today...in honor of t-j reinsch who passed away in 20- 10. t-j was a youth hockey coach for 15 years here in sioux city...as well as sioux falls and san diego, california. he also played for the musketeers. t-j's former teammates and students,....say the event helps them honor the late coach...in the way he would have wanted most. " "you know a lot of these guys played with tj, like we did, or played for tj. to have all these guys come back and play in his memory that remember who he was, how he coached, or how he played, it's a great deal," said burke lake, vice president of t.j. reinsch youth hockey foundation. "it's a great honor to come back and help out the foundation and everything that they've done," said sam schweigert, former player of tj. deborah: all the money raised from the

youth hockey foundation... which raises money to help youth hockey programs in sioux city and sioux falls. and staying on the ice... a bunch of iowa hockey fans got to see the oldest trophy in professional sports... people in bettendorf were lined up for hours to see the stanley cup. the quad city mallards worked hard to get the cup to the quad cities, and they used the opportunity to raise money for a good cause. they sold a thousand dollars worth of "fast passes"... allowing people to skip the line and see the cup. the money raised was donated to a local fo bank. philip pritchard/hockey hall of fame curator: it's always special, i think every day out there it's a unique time and another story is told in the day in the life of the stanley cup. deborah: the stanley cup will go back to toronto tomorrow... before heading to foxborough, massachussetts for the winter classic on new years day. deborah republican presidential

trump says he's responsible for a plan by the obama administration to step-up deportations beginning next month. trump says the move only came after his comments on the campaign trail to deport the estimated 11- million undocumented immigrants in the u-s. the nationwide raids will reportedly focus on hundreds of families that have entered the united states since 2014. the plan was quickly condemned by democratic presidential candidates. deborah: it's rare for big donors and politicians to talk about their relationship... or more importantly, what that money brings them. reporter chris frates has more on a patron in the republican party who's given millions to politicians. deborah: according to a non-profit watchdog group... more than 80 percent of gop presidential ads so far have been paid for by super pacs. deborah: and a few political candidates will spend time in the hawkeye state this week. on tuesday... democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders will hold a town hall meeting at muscatine high school at four p-m. from there... sanders heads to the mississippi valley fairgrounds in davenport for another town hall at seven. he'll also be making an appearance in burlington on wednesday. for the republicans... chris christie will try to be more competitive in the iowa caucuses with a trip here as well. the new jersey governor will host a town hall meeting on monday in downtown davenport. and on tuesday... he'll stop by a local coffee shop in muscatine. and fellow republican marco rubio is also working to build support for his campaign. he's starting a three-day bus tour in iowa. the florida senator will host a town hall in burlington

santa clara.....we find the iowa hawkeyes. six days out from the rose bowl, the guys have lots on their plate, but today was all about fun. "we're going to disney land!" the hawkeyes made the trip to anaheim earlier today....and boy did they have fun..... roller coasters.....thrill rides....you name it! back in 1959....walt disney himself started the tradition of inviting the rose bowl teams to disney land and that tradition continued today.... kirk ferentz.....pleased that his team could be a part of this time-honored event. "very excited, for a lot of reasons, yeah, for the people from california. very, very excited to have the disney experience today certainly and all the great festivities that go with the rose bowl, but, most importantly, to have an opportunity to play next friday in the best bowl there is against an outstanding opponent, the pac-12 champion, stanford team." not only do these guys get to play in the rose bowl. they get to visit disneyland....now thats living the dream. alex at the end of the season, its all about the survival of the fittest. as for iowa, the hawkeyes were bit by the injury bug all year but health is returning to the

starting with jordan canzeri, the senior sprained his ankle in the big ten championship game, but he is expected to play in the rose bowl. canzeri has rushed for nearly 1,000 yards this season, a vital part of the hawkeye rushing attack. under center, c.j. beathard has been dealing with a groin injury and a hip pointer, but he has been able to heal this entire month.
