jenna: and slick roads have caused a number of accidents already in the metro this year. today's ststm marks the sih time the sioux city metro has received more than a half inch of snow this winter. according to the sioux city police department, the city averages between ten and 15 crashes on an average winter day, however there are a number of factors that make a day more prone to crashes. so far this year, the city says the most crashes back on november 20th, which was the first snowfall of the winter. that day there re 36 wrecks in town. so far today

jenna: an iowa family is coping with a christmas day tragedy. a six year old girl died saturday night after a christmas morning crash that sent six others to the hospital.. but as jacob peklo reports.. while the fort dodge family grieves.. the community is showing support. " jana bartlett, aunt: "going to a family christmas to see great grandma and grandpa, and grandpa and aunts and uncles and to have this happen is unbelievable. it just doesn't really seem real." payton went in for surgery early saturday morning, and was on life support into the evening hours. saturday night, she died.
