jessica rae: if you're in the mood for some southern food tonight... howard has a deep south recipe... in honor of martin luther king junior on this very special holiday. "with today being martin luther king day, i thought i'd share a recipe inspired from the deep south where dr. king was born. plus it's so easy you can throw it together for dinner tonight as a way to celebrate his many accomplishments. we begin crumbling some cornbread and mixing it with some melted butter. once it's mixed, we set a couple of tablespoons aside and press the rest of it into a baking dish, forming a crust, and we bake that off. while that's in the oven, we chunk up some southern fried chicken tenders (from the deli department or frozen ones that we've baked), and toss them with some frozen mixed vegetables, (that we've thawed), along with a jar of chicken gravy. when everything's mixed, we pour this over the crust and top it with more of the cornbread crumbs before baking it some more. and as you can see, this has everything southern, from the crispy fried chicken to the buttery cornbread topping. when this comes out of the oven all bubbly hot, get ready dig into a dish that's not only lip-smacking good, it's super easy. i hope you'll go online and get the repe for our, "all- in-one southern dinner," so the next time you want a taste of the south you can whip up this hot and hearty dinner in no time. i'm howard in the mr. food test
