"when you want to upgrade the neighborhood like they want to do with this preservation deal you're making people do things too fast and unaffordable," said stout. tuesday city council members voted unanimously to approve the plan... requiring home owners to meet strict guidelines for exterior renovations. a plan steve says may become costly for homeowners.... a concern mayor bob scott says the council is aware of.

welcome back to the abc9 sportszone...alon g with alex walker, i'm chris palmquist...we have a dozen games lined up for you across all three states. alex we'll check out ranked teams at dakota valley and cherokee, plus top ten matchups in emerson and pierce out in nebraska. but we'll start with an mrac battle in sergeant bluff. chris back in december, heelan and sb-l went down to the wire when kyrese peck hit a game- winner for the crusaders in the pit. chris: tonight, the warriors tried to return the favor on their home court. third quarter...they lead it by 20. andrew christensen gets it in the post and finishes with the hook shot. heelan answers back...deandre burnside picks up the loose ball and goes coast to coast for the finger roll as the crusaders chip away. but then brady click finds keegan savary streaking to the rim...he gets the basket and the trip to the charity stripe. heelan keeps trying to make it a gaim...burnside blows past a pair of defenders here and some how gets the

chris: last wednesday, alex brought us the story on dakota valley and their scorching starts on the hardwood. surprisingly, that didn't jinx either the boys or the girls alex amazing. since then the panther girls have won a pair of games to improve to 10-2 and the boys continued their perfect start, shooting to number one in the state. alex tonight they put that undefeated mark on the line in an interstate battle with homer. and the panthers, rolling right along, bubba rosenquist...mone y on the wing triple...dv up 70-31. then late in the 3rd off the inbounds...bubba finds john prochello for the tough finish...it was a 40 point game heading to the fourth. homer...works it inside...timmy chamberlain...lays it home for the two. but the night belonged to dv...luke schmitt finds tanner smith who keeps it alive to cole bergmann...panthe r roll, 86-34. chris: same two teams

matchup. late in teh second quarter...kacie king...off the inbounds play gets it to go...but coach tremayne's crew trailed 48-22 at the break. right away in the third dv gets it going...sara bohan ahead to claire johnson for the hoop and the hack as the panthers stretch the lead. then anne mccabe, showing off the lost art of the midrange jump shot...panthers up 31. homer tried to make it respectable...king with the strong drive to the rack. but dakota valley, just too strong haley hoffman fights through all kinds of contact for the finish, they win it. chris: we've hit the under 4 media time out but don't go anywhere. we still have action from cherokee, paullina, and marcus, plus top ten battles in emerson and pierce...stay with us.

girls took down pender in the subdistrict final on their way to the state tournament. that loss snapped a four year run in lincoln for the pendragons chris: tonight, sixth ranked pender made the short trek to emerson to take on the second ranked lady pirates in the schools' second meeting this month. chris e-h won the first matchup by just three points back on the ninth. we pick it up in the second quarter...pender down four but then justice sorenson...drives and hits the pull up jay to cut the deficit in half. the lady pirates respond...ashley bokemper, knocks down the corner three and these two are loving life. later on, a scramble for the ball...payton blanke comes up with it and finds bokemper for the lay in...emerson hubbard up 9 at the break. in the third...it's bokemper picking right back up where she left off...she hits the trifecta and the lady pirates get the w...55-39. chris a top ten battle in pierce...josh spanjer and austin kathol from our
