"this is just another piece of added security of keeping aware of your surroundings so that the bad guys aren't coming to your home," said king. in the era of online swap meets and websites like craigslist people are increasingly becoming victims of scams and assualts after meeting in public places even like parkng lots, so... "le mars police department is offering their location as a spot for residents to buy and sell items, also known as a transaction safe place," said bell. "over the years, it's become quite aparent that there's been some violence associated with people that buys stuff off of the internet, such as craigslist and all that and we want to provide a safe place for them to exchange the articles that they're buying," said king. if requested, the department is offering services such as identifing the other parties involved in transactions and verify if items are stolen by checking a serial number. residents in the community say they think it's a good idea and a way to be on the front end of a potential crime. "that's an awesom idea...if those facilities for the department opens...it will reduce and probably deminish to the point of non existance, the

jess: tim, russel roberts junior was sentenced today after a fatal car accident two years ago when roberts drove tiffany schmitt and two others home from a bar. roberts was found guilty of vehicular homicide in the death of tiffany schmitt... and two counts of driving under the influence resulting in serious bodily harm of two of the other passengers. jess: according to court documents, roberts was intoxicated and speeding which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.. the car crashed and overturned in rural dakota county schmitts family was in the courtroom awaiting roberts sentencing. "he has not appologized accept for today, it was nice to hear but i think it's just the beginning" jess roberts was sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prision and his drivers license revoked for 15 years. : i spoke to the family about what they thought of the sentencing and how they're dealing with tiffany's loss..i'll have that for you at 10. reporting live in

tim: police are on the lookout for a suspect invoved in an armed robbery this morning in norfolk. authorties say the man walked into the hampton inn..... taking an undisclosed amount of cash before getting away on foot. the suspect is described as a male, standing about 5 foot 9 inches tall. anyone with information on the armed robery is urged to contact norfolk's police division. schools in norfolk were locked down for part of the day, as a precaution. jenna: a local group of women took advantage of the nice weather outside today, rallying for presidential candidate bernie sanders the woodbury county women for bernie sanders organization set up shop on gordon drive to rally for the vermont senator. one supporter says she wants people to know why she's backing bernie. americans can relate to and support jenna: last week we brought you the story of an iowa 11 year old who's campaigning for hillary clinton. tim: yesterday, george got to meet her in person. the two snapped this photo yesterday at the jewish federation event in des moines. appearantly, george asked secretary clinton about her policy. clinton says she was overwhelmed with his political prowess. i was thrilled to meet george because he's kind of a legend in our iowa campaign, he's our youngest most consistent volunteer, hes 11 years old, he comes to our headquarters, makes phone calls, i met him today at an event he asked a very good question about syrian refugees. he's a very impressive young man. tim: the latest quinnipiac university poll shows sanders, once again edging out early frontrunner hillary clinton in iowa... but only by a few points. sanders gets 49 per-cent support in this poll coming four per-cent
