souverain is down at the sioux city convention center, where hillary clinton is set to speak within the hour. and a-b-c 9 reporter jess plue is inside the orpheum theatre where trump supporters are gathering for a six o'clock rally. jenna we will check with them in just a minute, but first let's take a look at the latest poll numbers. the des moines register and bloomberg politics released their latest poll last night. on the republican side, donald trump is leading by five points. he's polling with 28 percent, followed by ted cruz with 23 percent. hillary clinton is holding onto the lead for the democratic nominatiti, but by a very small margin. she is only up 3 percentage points over bernie sanders, who has been steadily climbing in the polls these past few weeks. jenna and with sanders closing the gap, the entire clinton family has been out stumping across the state. our deborah souveraign is at the sioux city convention center, where hillary clinton is expected to take the stage any moment now. deborah, what's the atmosphere like down there.

news reporter jess plue. jenna chris christie was in sioux city this morning for a town hall event at morningside college. the new jersey governor is still at 3-percent in the des moines register poll. christie had a few words to say about poll leader, donald trump. "so who are the people that are not restrained...okay, right okay. donald trump who has never run for a political race in his life and doesn't really, i think, understand the ramification of his conduct is unrestrained. elisa raffa eraffa@kcautv.co m (fred) a blizzard watch is in effect for almost all of siouxland on tuesday. heavy snow and high winds will cause dangerous travel conditions. the port neal welding company skycam hd shows a nice looking picture of downtown sioux city from the ho chunk centre. 43 was the high and 33 the low today--both above normal. we have 41 in sioux city. local temperatures are in the 30s and 40s. wind chills are mainly in the 30s. northwest winds of 5 to 15 miles per hour are pushing in. zooming out to the national satellite and radar, we can see our tuesday storm currently over california. the stormcast hd shows quiet weather during the night tonight and during the day tomorrow. the snow will start to push in tomorrow evening, becoming heavy tuesday morning and continuing tuesday afternoon before tapering off tuesday evening to wednesday morning. blustery winds mean that even after the snow has ended blowing snow will be a concern wednesday. the snow forecast shows a sharp gradient northwest to southeast. these tals may still shift tomorrow if the e storm tracks moror to the north o o south. this would have a big impact on snow totots, so stay tuned. this is not a final forecast yet. here's a recap of what to expect: : e timing will be late monday evening through tuesday evening. heavy snowfall rates are likely. gusty winds to 40 mph will cause blowing snow, low visibility, and blizzard conditions. dangerous travel will result. 8-12" of snow is expected in sioux city, with a sharp cutoff to the northwest. for tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low of 26. tomorrow will be partly cloudy with a high of 38, but snow will move in during the evening. the 7- day forecast shows blustery conditons, and heavy snow tuesday. after that, our weather will be quiet with highs in the 20s and 30s. deborah/elisa (jenna) thanks, fred.
