" " lukas good morning and thanks for joining us this midday. i'm lukas voss conditions today are getting worse as the snow keeps falling and we haven't reached the peak yet ... we'll go right back to scott for more on today's storm...scott scott: lukas.... we'v'vbeen watching this storm system for seseral days...pinpointing the track where this is headed...and we're seeing really all of the elements with this storm - heavy snow, strong winds, and very low visibility. it's certainly been a groundhog day to remember and thf falling snow doesn't look like it's going to be slowing down veryuickly.

courageous conservatives across iowa and all across this great nation." the texas senator got 28-percent of the vote... while donald trump earned -24-percent. he vows to fight on. (dond trump) "we finished second, and i want to tell you something, i'm just honored, i'm really honored." florida senator marco rubio made a strong showing in third place... giving his campaign a shot of momentum. (marco rubio) "the people of this great state have sent a very clear message. after seven years of barack obama, we are not waiting any longer to take our country back." meanwhile on the democratic side, the vote came in much like the previous polls... a dead heat. until the early morning hours, the race between hillary clinton and bernie sanders was just too close to call. (hillary clinton) "i stand here breathing a huge sigh of relief, thank you iowa!" (bernie sanders) "for folks who did not think bernie sanders could win, that we could compete against hillary clinton, i hope that thought is now gone." but it's the end of the road for at least two candidates. democrat martin o'o'lley is calling itquits after gettinin just one-p-pcent of the vote. on the republican side, mike huckabee bowed out with humor.

company skycam hd. blizzard warnings blanket the area until early wednesday morning. the radar displays heavy snow dropping throughout much of siouxland. we've got visibilities being rapidly reduced and the wind is getting cranked up from the north and northeast near 20 miles per hour. temperatures are in the upper 20s and lower 30s. don't travel today unless it is absolutely necessary! the stormcast hd shows the evolution of the system as we'll have heavy snowfall today - especially during the morning. then this will transition over to more of a low visibility/strong wind event. things calm down by wednesday afternoon and we'll warm up later this week. here's a glance at your 7 day forecast. jessica rae scott: lukas

police in surprise in the mail - a handwritten 'thank you' letter from one of the town's young residents. and in turn, they invited her to come meet one of her heroes. reporter peggy lee has the story. " i'm chief laidacker, how are you?' 'good' 'good, do you want to sit down?' what started out as a school project has now landed 8- year old sabrina campbell in the catawissa police statn....face to face with the chief. 'it's such a great thing you did, we appreciate it' 'thank you' but sabrina's not in trouble...no...far from it. she's here after sending this letter to the catawissa police department....where she thanks them for keeping r country safe from bad people. chief josh laidacker says he was floored after reading what sabrina wrote. 'very humbling to read ts, especially from a child, it means s much to us to see something like this, i think this letter is not just for our police department but it's for every police department out there' sabrina says her librarian told her class to pick a hero and write a letter to them. so sabrina picked her local police officers. in her letter she writes that people normally don't thank police officers but it seems like the right thing to do.
