in baltimore... president obama spoke at his last national prayer breakfast as president today... emphasising a need through faith. now an iraq war veteran is being cheered for fighting off an armed robbery. this sururillance video was taken at the sugar creek gas station in brevard county, florida. the military vet was working ... when authorities say the robber came in and demanded money. on the video-- you see the vet go to the register with the man pointing the gun at his back. when the robber moves beside him... the veteran quickly grabs the gunman. the vet throws the man around while punching him. the robber end up running out of the store. police are now looking for him. jenna: the cleanup is underway after several tornadoes touched down in parts of the southeast for the second day in a row, tornadoes hit parts of the south in crocket

a surveillance camera at a local high school shows the moment an e-f one tornado came crashing through classrooms. fortunately the school day was over when the twister hit. in the area around the school, houses are left with visible damage. mostly it's cosmetic to my house, shingles and stuff like that. my shop is pretty much completete destroyed. the roof's gone, the doors are gone, and all the contents inside are just pretty much destroyed, soaking wet." and at fort stewart, georgia, a twister came through the base. the military had to move 50 people to new homes and dozens of vehciles were destroyed. today the national weather service is assessing the storm damage and determine if it was caused by a tornado or straight line winds. fred: jenna: tim: (tim)

consists of rapelling down the 12 story howard johnson hotel downtown. big brothers big sisters of siouxland will be trading fancy clothes for climbing gear for their latest fundraiser. the event, called "over the edge," will have donating participants -- "edgers" -- rappel down from the 12-story howard johnson hotel at 707 fourth st. organizers of the june 15 event wanted to bring a new twist on the usual fundraising dinner, said rocky welker, executive directoror big brothers big sisters of siouxland. "there are so many dinners, luncheons and silent auctions," welker said. "we really just wanted to find something that here before that way to get people engaged with our agency." individuals or teams can register to

feb. 1. all rticipants -- including individual team members -- need to raise at least $1,000 to reserve one of 90 spots available, welker said. if a team of employees raises $1,000, they can nominate their boss to rappel down the hotel. or the boss can opt to match the donation instead, welker said. then, an employee will be chosen to go wells enterprises, the le mars, iowa- based maker of blue bunny ice cream and frozen novelties, is the in sponsor for the event. welker said the goal is to raise $95,000, all of which will benefit big brothers big sisters of siouxland.
