lukas good morning and thanks for joining us this midday. i'm lukas voss after a week of meetings, the iowa utilities board has yet to make a decision on the bakken pipeline. the board held its final scheduled meeting thursday, and there is no information whatsoever of what's going to happen. during these memeings, board members have been reveaeang all they've learned over the past several months ...

testimony and hearings. some still think the decision has already been made, but even now board members are getting more information from people on both sides of the issue ... and that is making the decision even more difficult. " it's a struggle," said geri huser, a member of the three person board. "i don't like that part of this process." board members say, regardless of their decision, these companies will want to transport crude oil. many people we've talked to one both sides will agree. the board is being very deliberate throhout this whole process. its spokesman says he believesthey're taking the right steps to get closer to a decision. " it sounds like the board is trying to really narrow down the issues that they need to address and they're asking staff help them do that," said don tormey, the spokesman for the board. before the next meeting on feb. 19, the board's legal team has been asked to put together a pros and cons list from this week's sessions to help make their decision a little clearer. a final ruling could be made at that meeting ... but again ...there's no timeline for when they must make a decision. lukas: a sioux city man accused of

robberies and attempted murder appeared in court for the first time yesterday. 18-year old isaiah mothered was aprehended rlier in the wewe after shooting a sioux city police officer abc9 news reporter christina gri- hall-va has more on the court hearing. 18-year-old isaiah mothershed appeared in court thursday for the first time-- since being accused of shooting a sioux city police officer sunday. mothershed is charged with two counts of attempted murder and five counts of 1st degree robbery-- each as a class-b felony that carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. "i have to advise you that if convicted of any of those charges, you would be required to serve 70 percent of that sentence, before you'd be eligable for parole or work release. " mothershed's hearing is actually in connection to several incidents-- dating back to december of 20-15. according to court documents-- mothershed was involved in a home invasion b bk in december-- whehe a special neededchild was tied up and beaten while the other occupants of the home were threatened at gunpoint. mothershed was al connected to four other robberies-- over the past two months. also-- the shooting of the officer during sunday's investigation-- was not mothershed's first run-in with sioux city police. mothershed was arrested for kidnapping and burning two men

voters head to the polls in november they may decide if casinos can move into the state. three pro- gambling petitions are making their way through the state. the group spearheading the push for casinos is called "keep the money in nebraska." they say creating those casinos will help bring more tax revenue to the state. howewer, not everyonenegrees..
