is a great project for the kids-- there are some concerns as to where the money will come from to pay for it. a big proposal for a renovation project has come before the wayne school board that would give the community schools a long overdue facelift. the estimated cost-- 18-million dollars for expansion and improvements. in a board meeting wednesday-- there were some concerns to where that money will come from. "the way schools are funded in nebraska, in rural communittees, a lot of the reliance on the funding is our agriculture community. " board members-- who live in rural areas themselves-- say it's rural community-- splits up funding. percent of the uh rural areas are basically self funded, without help from lincoln." three main areas needing improvement-- the gym at the junior and senior high school which is th district'sost used several events each also-- a lecture currently used as a performing arts center-- more people attending shows and

"i think the board, uh, understands the needs, uh understands that our school is growing our town is growing, that's a good thing and we like that, but we do need to make sure that we have the school facilities to support that growth.
