in court this morning. he's being held in the polk county jail on 2 million dollars bond. 42-year-old amy fraaken and 16-year-old amber fraaken were shot to death in their home back in november. barney fraaken reportedly tried to take his own life. he was taken to the hospital where he's been treated until yesterday. steve: the des moines police have several suspects in custody following an overnight armed-robbery. it happened around a.m. at the git n go at 865 42nd street. a clerk says she recognized one of the 3 suspects as a regular customer and roosevelt high school student. one of the suspects reportedly pointed a gun at the clerk while another grabbed cash from the register. the robbery was caught on store surveillance cameras. officers are still investigating. fire investigators are trying to figure out why a vacant house erupted in flames early this morning. it happened around 3:00 a.m.. at 78th street in urbandale.

a washington state woman made a pretty interesting discovery in her dinner. lindsay hasz was eating at a restaurant when she bit into something hard in a clam. it looked like a pearl so she took it to a local gemologist. >> he thought i was joking. he thought it looked so round and perfect that someone was playing a joke on me. it was not a joke. steve: the gemologist determined that it was a rare quahog purple pearl worth about 600 dollars. him hasz says she plans to keep it and make a necklace. we're back next with a final check of the forecast.
