calls a high risk eviction, 8 deputies arrived wednesday morning to the home of 58-year-old martin wirth, just north of bailey, to get him out, and instead, were met with gunfire. >> we did not force a violent confrontation yesterday. mr. wirth did. we simply responded to the situation that was presented to us. >>reporter: three deputies were shot, including wounds to carrigan before the deputies returned fire, killing wirth. one deputy taken to st. anthony's hospital remains in serious condition. the superintendent says students and faculty alike are feeling the loss of the well-known and caring coach. >> that's the kind of character and the kind of condition nexts that he had with our students -- connections that he with our students and our staff, you know, he coached alongside of them. many of them he went to school with.

by the way, earlier this week, monday, here in longmont, a meter reader was bitten by a dog, and that meter reader spent a couple of days in the hospital. reporting live in longmont, howard nathan, cbs4 news. all right. thank you, howard. we have in u information about the coming expansion of e-470 this the april, crews will start widening an 8 mile stretch of the highway from parker road to quincy avenue. the highway will go from 2 lanes in each direction up to 3. cost about 80 million, tolls will help pay for it. traffic op e-470 is up more than 10 northwest year, construction last night, at a community meeting, a lot of people were asking about the possibility of new sound barrier walls in the e-470 people say they are working on that. there are plans to completely revamp denver's performing arts complex. the project would get rid of the concert hall and replace it with a smaller venue, here's a rendering of how things would look.
