we'll take a look at the winners later in this newscast. >> serious message mixed in there. we're going to cover the oscars and a lot. let's talk about our weather this week. we could see changes. lauren standing by. lauren. >> good morning, we're looking at the chance for windy weather and mountain snow. taking live outside denver. not too bad. gusty in some areas. winter park, gust at 53 miles-an-hour. as we zoom in here more, not too bad. windy in golden and the black hawk area and westminster and towards bennett. overall, not a bad start to the day. ads we look at our satellite and radar, 39 in denver and colorado springs. 45 in boulder. so pretty mild start to the day. 23 in avon. 31 in grand junction. we have clouds to start the day as well. and it looks to be windy for us today. partly sunny skies. maybe a chance for stray showers, but our chance for rain and snow

north korea arrested morthbeer for trying to take home a trophy belonging to north korea. blue flags are honoring -- nate carrigan was injured and two others injured on saturday. flags were out on the road. supporters continued the tribute to kenosha pass. the funeral for park county deputy carring carringan. he was killed last wednesday while serving an eviction notice. worth fired at the team of deputies. coloradans rallied this weekend to show their support for law enforcement officers killed and wounded in the line of duty. it took place at the douglas county fairgrounds there. here's our howard nathan with more.

corporal was shot and killed last week, he was apart of a disturbing trend, disrespecting the police. >> it's scary he goes out there. >> debbie's husband is a cop. she's been living with a growing fear of her husband's safety. >> society has changed about how they think about our police officers and people don't respect them like they used to. >> debbie joined a dozen others at the park to -- >> there's separation between our public and police. >> ron maclockin organized this. >> police in the community think the police are out to get them. i grew up in the community and i thought the police were out to get me until i realized others. >> they believe relationships need to be formed with the police. >> young people need to thank police and getting to know their

they'll be less crime and less confrontations because the two sides will know each other. >> you never know when you might need a cop. even the people protesting, if their children were missing or harmed, who are they going to call. >> that was howard nathan reporting. the pro police supporters thanked the military for their work as well. an army staff member is accused of shooting and killing a police officer working her first night. the man killed his wife and shot three officers in washington dc. officer ashley died on her first day on patrol in prince william county. >> we will continue one step at a time in honor of ashley. we would discredit her memory and service if we did anything but.

stings are dropping in price. it's weak demand across the 19 country. >> jill wagner live at the new york stock exchange to talk about this mornings money watch report. good morning, jill. >> the market is up today to their second -- chinese markets plunged this morning after financial leaders failed a plan. futures already pointing to a negative open. on friday, it was a mixed finish for the -- nasdaq up 8. they - apple is expected to release its newest i-phone at the end of the march and it will have a smaller screen and look identical to the -- it will have curve edges and won't include the 3-d touch feature. there's a plan to stop airlines from stuffing more passengers into coach.

smith's "writing on the wall" got the best original song. nasa astronaut kelly expected to be setback to earth after spending a year in space. it's apart of a research project on the effects of long term space travel on the human body. kelly spoke about his experience last year. environment. you never, even after i've been here nearly a year, you don't feel perfectly normal. there's always, you know, a lingering something you feel or it's just not normal. having said that, it's not nestle uncomfortable, but it's a harsh environment, for instance, not having no running water. it's kind of a like i've been in the woods camping for a year with regards to hygiene and it's more complicated here and the fact that everything floats difficult.

satellite and -- we have clouds to start the day. we're waiting for a system off to our north. most of the moisture does stay north of colorado, but we'll through the day. starting around lunch time, the snow has areas. here in den veshgs a stray shower or two rolls through. northeastern plains, this morning. most do stay in our mountain area. some of our foothills in jefferson, and douglas county, they may pick up snows. clear overnight. by tomorrow morning, sunshine and it could be windy through tomorrow morning. it will be gusty around here. be extra cautious of the wind and tomorrow, maybe a few clouds and another pop of snow for the high country. that's about it. last week it look like this may hit denver. it looks like it's going to confine itself to our mountain areas. we're warm. gusty winds. 61 degrees in denver. 60s in greeley. a lot of 40s in our high kun country and
