more about that in a minute, but first we'll check with joel. morning commute. you have to i-25 and 110th. not a lot of cones just to the far left lane. that's usual for this time of day. we're across the denver metro area. we have road work going on each direction near ridge gate and not on i-225 by at iliff and von, there's stuff on the road. the winds, that's showing up on the road weather index that lauren has been tracking for us. an suv holding six people crashed in littleton. two children have serious injuries. this happened near pierce and bold. shawn chitnis is there. shawn, you talked with a family member involve d. >>reporter: i was able to talk to the brother of the sister-in-law driving that car. and behind me, you can still maybe see in the distance, a little bit of this scene and the

this family member we were able to speak with, were able to come to this scene after going to the hospital and seeing what his family had to go through and was amazed to see how they were able to walk away or get out of that car. as you look at this video, you can see the suv smashed and on its side after rolling over late last night. it's hard to believe anyone would be okay if they were inside. we're told everyone inside is going to be okay and all six people, two children in the car that did have serious injuries, state patrol is trying to figure out what happened. one of the victim's brothers told us this white ford expedition lost control and might have hit a couple of trees and ended off the median rolling on its side? the westbound lane. >> when you see something like this, it actually means something worse, and i'm real thankful. >> colorado state patrol did

behind me for some time. but of course, no restrictions into this point. they're looking into whether alcohol or speed was a factor. shawn chitnis. new information on a deadly crash in frank town. 27-year-old m unoz is facing ha vic lar owe-- a couple was thrown from their bike and killed. a 28-year-old man on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries and we woman is struck and killed while walking along i-225. she was hit by a car near johnstown. the woman was identified as 26-year-old samantha better and police want to know she was walking along the highway to begin with.

tire line the edges of i-225 near johnson's corner. colorado state patrol responded just after 3:00 a.m. when a driver of a ford expedition traveling northbound hit a woman walking along the fast line of the interstate. people staying at the rv park just across the frontage road saw the flashing lights as officers shut down i-225. >> i couldn't believe somebody was out there. >> it's a 75-mile-per-hour stretch. >> it surprises me there was somebody actually walking down there. it makes you wonder what was going on. >> tracks in the dirt shoulder shows where the driver came to a stop. >> the driver's got to be beside himself. he's going to have needed days to process this. >> the woman died at the scene. authorities say neither alcohol, drugs nor excessive speed were factors on apart of the driver. >> melissa garcia, cbs 4 news.

health evaluations. jaime leary is live with a closer look. jaime, this bill is tied to the aurora theater shooting. it's a key piece of evidence that jurors consider to make their final decision, however, it's not required that this be recorded via video by the state. during the theater trial, defense attorneys didn't want james holmes insanity recorded. they said it could effect his responses, but one psychiatrist argues that video gives a more accurate and complete record than handwriting notes. the health evaluation is required for a sanity plea. they argued to have holmes mental health evaluation recorded, this bill will make it apart of a court order.

we're looking to see the winds get stronger later in the day. expect a windy one especially here in denver and eastern colorado. 41 in denver. 46 in boulder. 36 in fort college ins. 32 in burlington. 28 in leadville and 32 in grand junction. as we head into the denver area downtown, 47 for us. close to 50 downtown. almost 50 in westminster at 49. 37 in thornton. on our satellite and radar, you'll see clouds out there this morning. we're waiting for this system that you see over salt lake city and utah. that will swing towards us. most stays to our north and keeps going. we'll get that here in the colorado area, not so much here in denver. we're looking to stay in the mostly cloudy side with the wind. around lunch time, that snow has fully developed in our northern and central mountains. eastern plains this afternoon, you can get rain and snow moving through and maybe the east side of -- west side of denver gets a shower or two. overall, we stay dry.

we have stuff the road along iliff and von. we have two lanes closed either direction of i-225 as you get through ridge gage. here's the winds along in the high kun country. watch out for winter park and i-70 through georgetown to it eisenhower and johnson tunnel. it may effect the drive as you travel along 285. joel, thank you. in the health watch, a first of its kind operation. the team behind a break through uterus transplant is expected to share details of this historic operation. the 26th-year-old patient is in stable condition. the transplanted uterus came from a diseased organ donor. it's the first of its kind in united states history.

slowing down as you head between i-26 and i-70. the dow is down. it's tax time. there's word, scammers have hit the irs. here's anna daniels with today's money watch. >> on friday, the dow closed down 57 point and the nasdaq up 8. a cyber hack in the irs is worse than thought. they said scammers gained access to $700,000 accounts. the information stolen includes data that could be used to file a false tax return and collect a refund. the irs is mailing notifications. the german auto maker says the robot can't handle customized options offered to its customers.
